They may not admit it, but it seems like every other celebrity couple is trying to emulate the epic union of Zoe Kravitz and Robert Pattinson. From Kate Beckinsale and David Beckham to Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, A-list couples have been spotted trying to catch the ‘wedding-dance fever’ in order to land a celebrity union.

But while many may think that Zoe and Rob’s fair isle white wedding marks the peak of wedding season 2017, it may be far from true. Several celebrity couples have already tied the knot this year, so if you’re looking to score a wedding present, you may have to look elsewhere. But that doesn’t mean that Zoe and Rob’s wedding was any less special. It’s just that other couples wanted to replicate it so much that it temporarily overstayed its welcome in the limelight.

The Biggest Name Amongst The List

If there’s one celebrity couple that dominated the headlines during wedding season, it’s the Kravitz-Pattinson clan. The British actor’s ex-wife, the fashion superstar and former Victoria’s Secret angel, became one of the most prominent brides-to-be this year when it was revealed that she would walk down the aisle for a second time. Many expected that this year would be devoted to the couple’s second marriage, but that wasn’t the case. The focus remained on Zoe and Robert even though they made their vows to each other back in 2015.

“It seems like every other celebrity couple is getting hitched this year, but I still have my wedding veil,” Zoe joked during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April. “Most of my friends are getting married in the next few months, so we’re all kind of stuck in each other’s weddings.”

Indeed, it seems that the fashion world was taken back by surprise when Zoe confirmed that she and Robert were getting hitched for a second time. The second time around, the couple chose to buck the trend and hold their ceremony at a privately-owned vineyard in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park back in January. And although the guest list was kept under wraps, several A-list stars were reportedly in attendance. The secrecy was presumably to keep the wedding drama under wraps, but it backfired when the guest list was leaked online ahead of the big day. In true A-list fashion, the list included some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

It wasn’t just about scoring names, either. The vineyard had also asked that only environmentally-conscious couples be considered for the wedding, which the couple readily agreed to. “We didn’t want to do the usual celebrity wedding because, well, there are so many other things we could be doing with our time,” Zoe told People magazine at the time. “I think our guests will appreciate that this is a very special day and will want to support us in our commitment to sustainability.”

Other Celebs Who Got Hitched This Year

While the Kravitz-Pattinson nuptials captivated the media, other big name celebs got hitched this year as well. And although it was reported that the pandora’s box of wedding gifts was opened on the big day, several stars have since admitted that they had pre-bought gifts for their brides. If you’re looking to invest in a celebrity present, consider these other options.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott were among the first to wed this year when they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Los Angeles in March. The reality star’s older sister, Khloe Kardashian, also got hitched in a similarly lavish ceremony in Paris in May to French designer Louis Vuitton. The designer reportedly paid for the entire wedding and gave each bride a Louis Vuitton ‘Bride Bag’.

In more traditional ceremonies, Kate Beckinsale and David Beckham were married in late January in an intimate ceremony in London. The English actress wore a gorgeous white dress and the designer wore a suit, complete with a pocket square. It was reportedly the first time that David had ventured outdoors since he was discharged from hospital following his heart surgery in 2017. The two were reportedly over the moon at being able to hold their wedding ceremony just between them and their closest family and friends.

But it wasn’t just couples getting hitched. In October, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were engaged after just three months of dating. The couple tied the knot privately in Los Angeles in a small but extravagant ceremony that was filled with close friends and family. Miley wore a white dress and Liam sported a suit for the occasion.

And although they didn’t get married, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were spotted taking their relationship to the next level when they were seen entering a Los Angeles courtroom in March. The couple have been spotted together several times since their relationship was confirmed in October 2017, but today’s sighting was apparently a very special moment. They held hands as they walked in and the judge even asked if they were waiting for someone. When the answer was yes, the couple shared a tender kiss that sent shockwaves through the courtroom. (We wonder if the whispers were now silenced…).

Weddings 2018

It seems like just yesterday that we were basking in the afterglow of Zoe and Rob’s epic wedding. Since then, several other big name celebrities have gotten hitched. In December, it was announced that Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield had called off their engagement after just a year of dating. We wish them all the best.

But while many other celebrity couples called off their engagements this year, new celebrity couples emerged and continued to shock audiences with their decadent celebrations. In February, singer Halsey and actor Jim Carrey’s engagement was made official when they exchanged marriage vows at Carrey’s home in Malibu. Guests were given rose gold key-chains as a present and had to make a choice between red or white wine to drink during the wedding dinner. A month later, it was reported that Diddy was in talks to become the first-ever mentor on his reality series, Diddywedding, which is being produced by his company, One Three Entertainment. The show will reportedly document the preparations for Diddy’s upcoming wedding to longtime partner Alexis Arshakoff. If the ‘King of Swag’ decides to take the plunge and wed, he’ll be celebrating in grand fashion. (Perhaps even bigger than Zoe and Rob’s wedding).

Rumors About 2019

Although we’re well into the new year and wedding season is now over, it would be a shame to end this article without speculating about what’s going to happen next. With so many celebrity couples trying to emulate the Kravitz-Pattinson union, it would be no surprise if 2019 was devoted to even more wedding moments. What will 2019 bring? Only time will tell.
