When did Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart stop dating? While it’s been a long time since they’ve been seen on the red carpet together, it’s still fair to wonder if they’re still an item. After all, these days, anything is possible—including celebrity hookups!—and it seems that some of Hollywood’s most popular stars have found inspiration in their love story.
Here’s a look back at their history—from their very first red carpet appearance, all the way through to the present day.
The Early Days
As previously stated, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart on the red carpet together. However, it was only a few months ago that they were spotted getting cozy on a snowy night in New York City. The actor, who’s currently filming the next installment of the Twilight saga, was in town to attend the New York premiere of his latest film, The Book Thief. On that evening, he was accompanied by his Twilight co-star, Stewart, as well as director Barbara Muschietti and editor Charlotte Salisbury. (Photos: Tumbler)
It was here, at the premiere of The Book Thief, where their on-screen romance became an off-screen one. While fans may still remember the actor’s character, Edward Cullen, for saving Stewart’s life in Twilight, it seems that she has other ideas about who she wants to save first.
In December 2019, Stewart was the center of a heated conversation when the topic of dating came up during a radio interview with Matt Lauer. When asked about her opinion on the subject, she quipped, “I’m not really into the whole dating thing right now. I’m interested in a casual relationship.”
While she may not be looking for a serious commitment, it seems that her co-star is more than interested in starting a family. In response to Lauer’s question, Pattinson, 32, revealed, “I want to have kids. I want to adopt. I want to foster kids. We’ll see what happens. I can’t rush it.”
A Family-Friendly Movie
It’s fair to say that 2020 has been a banner year for celebrity hookups, with everyone from Bella Swan to Alyssa Milano hitting the dating scene. Now, with more and more people living under lockdown, it seems that Hollywood’s most attractive stars are looking to make the most of the opportunity and meet someone special. Between the pandemic and the change in Hollywood’s usual routine, the number of celebrity couplings has increased dramatically.
The best part is that so many of these celebrity unions seem to be bringing something new to the table. Whether they’re acting together for the first time or rekindling an old romance, some of Hollywood’s most famous couples are able to portray a more mature and family-friendly relationship on screen than we’ve seen before. Let’s take a look at some of Hollywood’s cutest celebrity weddings and family gatherings in the past year.
A Diamond Ring & A Golden Cage
It would be remiss not to mention the incredible year that BFFs Bella and Alice’s wedding had in 2020. The fashion designer and the actress tied the knot in a stunning ceremony that was graced by celebrity guests, including Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid. For their big day, Bella and Alice sported gorgeous dresses by JOVANI, while their bridesmaids wore stunning gowns by Gwyneth Paltrow. A few months later, on May 12, 2020, Gigi Hadid and her wife, Bella, had a gorgeous family wedding in a private ceremony at Dean Martin’s legendary estate, the Hometree Inn and Farm. The couple’s three children, Bella, Gigi, and Elijah, wore matching floral-print dresses, and their guests included Hadid’s BFFs, Kourtney Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West, as well as the former Mrs. John F. Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy. (Photos: REX/Shutterstock)
The Golden Globes
The year 2020 also saw a lot of star-studded weddings. On January 12, 2020, Tom Hanks wed his partner, Rita Wilson, in a private ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. The couple has been together for more than 20 years and have two adorable children, Jack and Nora. (Photo: REX/Shutterstock)
On January 28, it was Anna Kendrick’s turn to marry her partner, Joe Alwyn. The comedy actress and the fashion designer wed in a wedding ceremony that was so romantic, it was featured on the cover of Vogue. (Photo: Brian Ach/Getty Images)
The happiest wedding of the year was undoubtedly Hanks’ characteristically sweet ceremony with Wilson. However, it seems that some of Hollywood’s most famous couples are finding new ways to surprise their guests with romantic ceremonies that are not your typical “formal affair.”
A Royal Wedding
Finally, let’s not forget about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s April 19 wedding. The celebrity couple’s intimate ceremony, which was attended by family and friends, was held in rural Englefield, England. The couple chose to wed at the beautiful Church of Englefield, where the bride’s parents, Elizabeth II and Philip, as well as her aunt, Queen Victoria, are among the parishioners. After the ceremony, guests headed for a wedding breakfast, which was served at the nearby manor house, Priory Park. (Photo: EPA)
While the engagement and wedding of the century seemed to be an incredible moment for the couple, it was almost overshadowed by the recent events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The news of Markle’s decision to walk down the aisle despite extreme public health concerns brought the world’s attention to the story, as did her request for people to socially distance themselves in order to protect her from the novel coronavirus. Unfortunately, the pandemic took its toll on the couple’s big day, as due to the government restrictions, they were unable to host their ceremony outdoors. (Photo: Mark Hawkins/Getty Images)
Despite the tragedy that befell their special day, it was a moment that the world will never forget. In the coming months, Harry and Meghan will continue to work for social justice and gender equality as ambassadors for the Commonwealth. (Photo: AFP)
The Present Day
It’s been almost a year since Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart stopped dating, and the actor has since moved on to wed longtime love, Emily Brown with children, Florence and Theodore, in April 2021. The wedding took place at an undisclosed church in Scotland and was attended by just a few family members and friends. (Photo: REX/Shutterstock)
The British film star, Joe Jonas, tied the knot with his partner, Priya, in a romantic ceremony in Italy in December 2020. The newlyweds chose an intimate ceremony at an undisclosed church in the country and enjoyed a luxurious reception at a villa in Monte Carlo, which was decorated with flowers and candles. In February 2021, Priya, Joe, and their children, Jagger and Willow, had a private family wedding in London. The ceremony, which was followed by a glamorous reception at the Café de Paris, was a beautiful celebration that was attended by a host of famous friends, including Elton John and his partner, David Furnish, who is also the father of the bride’s children.
