Robert Pattinson is one of the most popular and well-known male movie stars around the world. He’s been acting for movies since he was 16 years old, and became famous for his role as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter film series. Since then, he’s appeared in a number of major blockbuster films, along with some smaller indie projects.

Pattinson isn’t particularly active on social media, but he does have a Twitter feed where he occasionally tweets about his work and the upcoming release of new movies. In this article, we’ll identify all of the English-speaking territories in which he’s set to appear in upcoming films, either in a starring role or in a supporting one.

United Kingdom

Pattinson’s first movie in the United Kingdom was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the second installment of the Harry Potter film series. The movie was released in July 2010, which was two months after Part 1 had been released. During that time, he appeared in a couple of commercials and some TV shows, but he mostly stayed off-camera. In November 2010, he filmed a small cameo in a movie called Three Words, which was released in early 2011. He also had a small role in a movie called The Boat That Rocked, which was released in late 2010.

United States

In 2010, Pattinson appeared in a total of five films in the United States. Four of which were in very minor independent films, while the other one was a major studio production: Twilight: New Moon. Twilight was released in July 2010, which was two months after Part 1 had been released, so it’s safe to assume that he was still in the country at that time. During that period, he had a small part in a movie called Burlesque, which centered around a strip club and was released in May 2010. He also had a small part in an indie film called Kill Your Darlings, which was released in September 2010. That was his big break into the American mainstream, and it resulted in more extensive media coverage and higher demand for his time and appearances.

Canada

Pattinson had previously never been to Canada, so it was quite the experience to shoot scenes there. The Canadian government even provided him with a Canadian citizenship, which he used in the 2014 film The Lost City of Z. That movie is based on the book by writer and historian William Prescott, who chronicled the expedition of Lieutenant John M. Gordon, a British Army officer who led an expedition to the Arctic in the late 1800s. In 2016, he returned for the sequel The Lost City of Z: Book Two. Since then, he’s shot several other films in Canada, including another sequel, this time to Edgar Rice Burroughs’ 1912 novel The Curse of the Emeralds. He also had a small role in the comedy-drama Overboard, which was released in June 2016. In July 2017, it was announced that he would be starring in an upcoming Tarzan movie, set for release in October 2021.

Australia

While most of the world was still unaware of Pattinson, the Aussie media had been watching him for years. The first time they met, he was 22 years old, and had appeared in a couple of short-lived Australian television shows. But it was the 2007 miniseries Rabbit Hole, which was directed by John Hill and first aired on the ABC, that put him on the map. The series was based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Australian author John Cheever. It centered around a young girl’s struggle to cope with the death of her father. One of the reasons why most people know about Pattinson is because of his multiple tattoos, which cover much of his body. One of the first tattoos he got was based on the poem “Mercy” by Rudyard Kipling. The poem depicts a soldier’s regret over heaving the boot off a sleeping beauty’s foot.

Ireland

Although his native tongue is English, he occasionally visits Ireland to film. The first time he visited Ireland was to attend the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 in October 2007. Since then, he’s shot several other movies in the country, including the drama The King’s Speech, which was set in 1901 Ireland and released in March 2011. He also had a small role in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which will be the eighteenth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. In October 2021, he’ll star in Tarzan, which will be the second Tarzan movie to be released in the 21st century.

New Zealand

Pattinson has been to New Zealand to film, and will be appearing in two upcoming movies there. The first one is in April 2021, and is called Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. It’s set in the 1870s and is based on the 1865 novel by Lewis Carrol, who based his work on his own 1865 novel, Alice in Wonderland. The second movie is called The Lost City of Z, and is based on the books by writer and historian William Prescott. New Zealand is a mountainous country, and the scenery and climate are said to have inspired Peter Pan’s adventures in J.M. Barrie’s 1911 play, and the 1998 Disney movie of the same name. (Although the scenery looks very different in both films, it’s still considered one of the most recognizable images of New Zealand.)

South Africa

Pattinson had never been to Africa, so it was quite the experience to film there. He actually had to get a visa to travel to South Africa, as most nations in the area prohibit non-nationals from entering their country without a visa. In 2015, he had a small role in an Australian movie called The Neon Demon. That was his only appearance in 2015, as it was noted that he spent much of the year filming in Morocco. In early 2021, he’ll be seen in the movie The Legend of Awelie Storm, which is based on the eponymous character from the comic series of the same name. In 2024, he’ll be seen in a Tarzan movie, which will be the nineteenth film in the Tarzan series, and the last one before a planned reboot.

Japan

Pattinson has visited Japan a few times, but he hasn’t really shot any scenes in the country. The first time he visited Japan was in 2008, and he attended the Tokyo International Film Festival to support his French co-stars in the movie Les Misérables. During that time, he stayed in the French Embassy, and even had a chance to meet with Emperor Akihito. He’s since then worked on his French, and has been to Tokyo several times while filming. In the fall of 2021, he’ll be seen in the film The King of Fighters, based on the popular SNK fighting game series of the same name. In the game, he plays a French aristocrat who teams up with other aristocrats to fight monsters.

Denmark

Pattinson has never been to Denmark, so it was quite the experience to film there. The first time he visited the country was in 2013, and he attended the Copenhagen International Film Festival to support his French co-star in The King’s Speech. That was his only appearance that year, as he spent much of the year filming in Morocco. In the summer of 2021, he’ll be seen in the movie The House of Gucci, which is based on the 2005 novel by English author Rupert Thomson. The movie will be the second collaboration between Pattinson and Gucci, following the 2017 movie Gucci Merci. In the novel, Pattinson plays a literary agent who travels to Italy to meet with a client seeking inspiration for a new book. While in Italy, he visits the homes and workplaces of famous artists, writers, and designers, and gains insights from his experiences.

Norway

Pattinson has visited Norway to film, and will be seen there in two upcoming movies. The first one is called The King’s Speech, which was filmed in 2015 and will be released in April 2021. It’s based on the 1945 novel by British author William Shawcross. The other movie is called The Lost City of Z, and is based on the books by writer and historian William Prescott. Norwegian law forbids laypeople from appearing in films, so it was noted that most people there wouldn’t know who Pattinson is even if they saw him on screen. But it was his second trip to Norway, in October 2021, that resulted in a lot more coverage and recognition. That was when he filmed a part in the highly anticipated sequel The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, being directed by James Cameron. The studio even had to put out a press release to announce his participation in the movie. (Although it’s not clear how much he’ll actually appear in.)
