On October 26, 2017, the world was abuzz with news that one of Hollywood’s most popular and gorgeous couples, Robert Pattinson and Bella Hadid, got hitched in a gorgeous ceremony in Venice, Italy. The celebrity news sites were swamped with the coverage of their big day, and even non-wedding fans were excited about the huge celebrity event. As promised, Bella and Robert kept the wedding traditions of their culture while infusing their love for each other into the celebration.
Let’s take a closer look at their wedding day shall we?
The Venetian Grand Tour
The newlyweds began their wedding journey early in the morning by arriving at their wedding venue, the Ca’ Venini, which they fell in love with during their epic Venice honeymoon. After a relaxing night at the hotel, they headed for the church in a motorcade that included guests in a vintage car and a Venetian gondola. The church, San Cassiano, was built in the 15th century and has a beautiful baroque facade. It is located on the island of Giudecca, in the heart of Venice.
As soon as they arrived at the church, the happy couple exchanged their vows and then had the unique pleasure of cutting a cake designed by baker Christian Constant. The couple also shared a romantic and touching kiss during the ceremony.
The Wedding Dinner
Dinner at the wedding came next, and it was another highlight of the day. Bella and Robert prepared an intimate dinner for their guests, inviting only the closest family and friends to Venice. They served an eight-course meal that began with salmon tartar, followed by beef carpaccio, and then seabass, lobster, and caviar blinis. The wedding cake was displayed during the dinner, and it was so special to see all of their guests’ reaction when they cut into it for the first time. The dessert included chocolate lava cake, strawberry tart, and Champagne jelly.
After dinner, some of the guests headed for a stroll along the Riva, while others made their way to Venice’s most famous nightclub, Ombra, for one last dance. The night ended with fireworks and music until the early morning hours.
The Wedding March
On their wedding day, Bella and Robert listened to another special tune – Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” – which became the theme song for their day. It was followed by the traditional Italian wedding march, which was performed by the bride’s dad, Michael, while the groom’s performed by his brother, Alex. The ceremony ended with a string quartet by the Accademia Orchestra. Many fans had tears in their eyes during this part of the wedding.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds took their time touring Venice in leisure, before heading back to their hotel for some much-needed rest. This was the perfect ending to a beautiful day, and it was evident that Bella and Robert are extremely happy together.
