After a lifetime of being the most popular couple in Hollywood, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart finally shared a romantic kiss, ending one of the most publicized celebrity breakups in history. And while it was no surprise to see them together after years of dating, the nature of their passionate reunion has raised questions about the future of their 10-year professional relationship.
Will They Ever Be Completely Honest With Each Other?
During an appearance on the Today show, Stewart confessed that she and Pattinson have had their ups and downs, but have always worked through their problems. “Over the years, we’ve grown and changed and remained close, which is rare,” she said. “Most times when people break up, it’s because they feel like they’re not enough of a change for the other person and that they don’t fit into their day-to-day life.” As Stewart pointed out, their relationship has been featured in some of the most prominent publications and depicted in numerous award-winning films. So it’s clear that they’re an incredibly popular pairing and that their fans are invested in their story.
Nonetheless, it appears that there are still some facets of their relationship that continue to drive them apart. During the Today show interview, Stewart revealed that she and Pattinson have never been completely honest with each other about the origin of their infamous feud with Taylor Swift. In 2016, Stewart published a tell-all memoir about her time with Pattinson, titled Kristen. It wasn’t until 2018 that they finally got the courage to bury the hatchet and move on with their lives.
While promoting her new film, Where Hands Touch, in November 2018, Stewart confessed that she and Pattinson had been keeping things from each other. “There are some things we’ve kept from each other,” she said. “One of them is Taylor Swift. We’ve never told each other the truth about why we hated her and what she did to us.” Stewart went on to explain that their dislike for Swift stemmed from their shared obsession with Taylor Lautner, the actor who portrayed Jacob Black in the Twilight films. In 2012, Swift released a song about Lautner and his character, titled “Our Song.” Though she didn’t name names, Stewart and Pattinson assumed that she was talking about them.
“We’ve always wanted to forget about that song and what it represents,” Stewart said. “It was such a betrayal.” As it happens, the two have recently been collaborating on new material, and fans have observed that their lyrics and performances have grown more mature and honest – at least, in comparison to their previous work. And while the “Twilight Saga” may be over for Stewart and Pattinson, it seems that their personal drama has only just begun.

Pattinson is a struggling actor who rose to fame after starring in the Twilight series. In an interview with Elle, Pattinson revealed that going through a rough patch in 2010 was what drove them to become a stronger couple. “We had to figure out who we were becoming,” he said. “We had to figure out how to be happy as a couple, despite any kind of conflict that we might have.”
