Some actors and musicians can be so unbelievably talented that it’s almost hard to believe they’re the same people behind those cheesy Halloween costumes. Well, it’s the same with Robert Pattinson. That’s why we’re here today, to celebrate his amazing artistry and to try and figure out if there’s any value in buying his work. Let’s dive in.

The Moneymaker

If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you’ll know that we’ve mentioned Robert Pattinson’s artwork numerous times. He’s one of our favorite modern-day artists, with his bold use of color and imagery; today, we’re going to look into why his work is so special.

The first thing you need to know about Robert Pattinson is that he’s one of the most in-demand artists in the world. In fact, he’s so popular that he even has a line of T-shirts that people covet more than they probably should. If you look at his paintings and graphic artworks, you’ll see the reasons why. They are incredibly diverse, ranging from movie posters to album covers to fashion illustrations. There’s something for everyone. Even those who aren’t generally into art probably have a painting or drawing by Pattinson that they cherish.

Now, it’s not just the variety that makes the artist special, it’s the fact that he is consistently putting out amazing work. One of the things that makes him so talented is that he doesn’t just stick to one thing, instead exploring all kinds of different styles and approaches. Take a look at some of his previous illustration work for the Guardian and The New York Times and you’ll see what we mean.

The Multi-Billionaire

We’re not going to lie; we want to talk about money with you guys today. Let’s be honest, when you see an actor or musician’s career taking off like a rocket, it’s usually because they were rich before they got famous. But how rich are we talking about here? Well, if you look at the Forbes list of highest-paid actors and musicians, you’ll see that Robert Pattinson is in a league of his own. He’s not only one of the highest-paid actors, he’s also one of the highest-paid musicians. The last time we checked, he was valued at a whopping $16.7 million. Not bad for an artist who’s been doing this for a living for a while now. He’s certainly not broke, which is fortunate for us.

Pattinson’s net worth isn’t the only thing that’s impressive, though. If you follow the link below, you’ll see that his yearly earnings are actually greater than those of many other actors/musicians. He’s raking in the cash. In fact, he made over $500,000 last year alone, just from his acting gig in The Batman. That’s a good chunk of change, especially for an actor who doesn’t have a brandname attached to his name. If you want to be a millionaire by 26, all you need is the talent and the will to succeed. We think that’s something to aspire to.

The Emperor’s New Clothes

Sometimes, when we feature gorgeous people, we can get a little starstruck. When that happens, it’s usually better to keep our mouths shut and just stare awkwardly at them, like a five-year old at a nightclub. Well, that’s what we would have done with Robert Pattinson, if we hadn’t found out that he’s a pretty intense dude when it comes to his work. We mean that as a compliment. It’s not that we don’t think he’s beautiful, because he definitely is. He’s also one of the most interesting, intelligent, and ambitious guys we’ve ever met.

The issue is that sometimes he wants feedback on his work. When that happens, he can often become overbearing and condescending, especially if you’re not a professional. If you’re lucky enough to work with him or for him, you’ll certainly experience this side of him first hand. If not, it’ll just be another thing you have to get used to, like dealing with the eccentricities of a genius. We’re still not sure if we trust his opinion of art, but we’re starting to understand why he thinks so highly of himself.

The Prestige

Sometimes, we hate to admit it, but we can be pretty smug and superior about certain things. When that happens, it’s usually better to shut up and just nod along, because chances are you’ll never understand. Well, that’s what we would have done with Robert Pattinson. We would have just nodded along, because chances are we’d never understand why anyone would want to waste their time doing something as trivial and unproductive as painting or drawing, anyway.

The issue is that he doesn’t agree with that attitude. In fact, he thinks that art is an important and necessary part of human civilization, no matter what some people may think. If you want to be successful as an artist, you have to believe in yourself and your work. You have to have faith that people will appreciate your art, even if you don’t. That’s a tough pill to swallow for those of us who think that art is simply a matter of personal preference.

Self-expression

Here’s where we start to get a little tongue-tied. We love a good metaphor as much as the next person, but sometimes it’s hard to put into words just how much art means to us. For those of us who have spent our whole lives in theater or music, going from class to class, lesson to lesson, it’s hard to put into words the feeling we get when we look at a piece of art and it just feels right. It feels like it was made for me, especially when everything around us feels so chaotic. It’s like a calm voice in the wilderness, speaking to us and letting us know that everything is going to be okay.

In all honestly, we think there’s something to be said for having a creative outlet and being able to indulge in your passions. For those of us who have spent years training and honing our craft, it’s a chance to let loose and be creative, to tell a story with color and form, to create something that’s uniquely ours.

The Inspiration

It might seem odd, but sometimes art influences our lives even outside the context of a piece of visual art. We saw the Broadway play Hamilton (which we love by the way) and it made us inspired to try something new with our own writing. Not even a week later, we had a completed first draft of a children’s book, which we eventually released. Even if you’ve never heard of Robert Pattinson, you’ve probably been affected by his work in some way. The fact is, his art is insightful, intelligent, and most importantly, inspirational.

If you want to be successful as an artist yourself, you have to possess all of these same qualities. You have to be intelligent and aware of your surroundings, but you also have to have confidence in your work. If you don’t, then it’s your own fault for not believing in yourself. We can’t help but be inspired by his talent and his work, which is why we’re still sitting here, writing about him. If anyone is worth writing about, it’s Robert Pattinson. Keep up the good work.
