The Royal Baby Shower
Prince George was just 6 days old when his mother, Princess Charlotte, held her first baby shower with family and friends. She wore a simple but stunning dress by JOVANI and carried a small bouquet of flowers.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the arrival of Robert Pattinson. The Twilight actor was the first to arrive and he brought with him a present for the new mother – a gorgeous pearl and diamond earrings. The guests were then given the opportunity to leave their best wishes for the new parents. This was followed by a photo booth where the guests could have their pictures taken with the newborn prince.
The baby shower was a brilliant way to show off Princess Charlotte’s lovely looks and charm, not to mention her taste in jewellery. The fact that Robert Pattinson was there to celebrate with her adds an extra touch of luxury to the day.
The Royal Wedding
It was a glorious day in June 2018 when Queen Elizabeth II blessed the couple’s union with her special wedding blessing. The occasion was filled with celebration as the couple wed at Westminster Abbey in front of 300 guests.
The bride wore a magnificent wedding dress designed by Christian Dior. The designer has been appointed the Official House of the Prince and Princess of Wales.)
The Duchess of Cambridge looked equally stunning in a pale blue dress designed by Amanda Wakeley. The dress was created as a replica of the one Prince William wore during the couple’s walk down the aisle.
Walking her down the aisle, the Duchess held a dove coloured bag filled with blooms and gave a dazzling smile as she passed by the waiting crowd.
The wedding was a very special day for George and Amalia. The couple shared a passionate kiss as their wedding day ceremony began. Their wedding was attended by the likes of Princesses Victoria and Aurora, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the King and Queen of Spain.
The ceremony was followed by a wedding cake-cutting and toasts from the couple’s families. The bride and groom were then given a chance to sign the register as they blessed their union. Their parents and grandparents smiled as they posed for a photograph surrounded by the glow of the afternoon sun.
From the wedding dress to the ceremony venue, Queen Elizabeth’s former wedding church, the day was filled with unforgettable memories and dazzling style.
The Birth of Princess Eija
Just two months after the wedding, Princess Charlotte gave birth to a baby girl, Princess Eija. The Duchess arrived at the hospital in a stunning blue and white dress designed by Georgina Chapman. The dress was inspired by Princess Charlotte’s fan mail.
The new parents had to make a speedy exit soon after the birth as guests began to arrive for the start of Princess Eija’s christening. The tiny princess was blessed with the House of Windsor in her baptism as guests including the Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall, Viscountess Soames and the Earl and Countess of Wessex looked on.
The Duchess of Cambridge held the christening cup and marked the beginning of a new family with a kiss as the newly christened Princess Eija drank from it. Prince George was by the Duchess’ side as he had been at the christening of his siblings. It was a poignant moment for the new parents as they spent the first few hours of their daughter’s life with her father – whose parental rights she will soon be taking over.
Keeping Up With The Royal Fashion
As the popularity of the royal family grows, so do their fashion followers. The Duchess of Cambridge is famous for her love of fashion and routinely shares her stylish snaps on social media. As well as impressing with her looks, Kate has also been known to make big style statements with her clothes. For example, she wore a bold print dress to greet the Queen on her 88th birthday in 2017.
In September 2018, Kensington Palace shared a photo of the glamorous duchess in an elegant peach suit designed by MARNI. The 44-year-old looked chic and classy as she stepped out for her weekly shopping trip with her dog Hank.
That same month, Princess Charlotta unveiled the couple’s new baby boy’s first outfit. The proud new parents chose a white suit with blue accents for their newborn son, Louis. The boy’s outfit was designed by Georgina Chapman and worn by his mother as she attended the Buckingham Palace garden party with Prince Louis.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
It’s been a golden year for the royal family and they have enjoyed many happy moments. There have been countless spectacular events and incredible productions, from Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding in April 2018 to Princess Charlotte’s christening in October. But the most prestigious event of the year was undoubtedly Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee.
The Queen celebrated her 60 years on the throne with a dazzling array of events. From an afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace to a gala dinner at the Royal Albert Hall, the monarchy and their fans were treated to a feast of styles. The sheer volume of events and attractions was enough to fill an entire year, let alone one day.
The anniversary was marked by a spectacular concert at the Royal Albert Hall. More than 100 artists and bands took to the stage, performing for an audience of over 3,000. One of the day’s highlights was undoubtedly George Michael’s performance. The former Wham! star performed at the gala dinner, choosing a dress designed by Stella McCartney.
Other performers included Kylie Minogue, Take That, the Spice Girls and Boyzone. The event culminated in a spectacular fireworks display – an incredible display celebrating the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.
The celebration was rounded off with a gala concert at London’s O2 Arena. Here, Jay-Z and Rihanna led the star-studded audience in a roaring rendition of ‘Humble’. Other performers included Stormzy, Mabel, Kodaline and Jorja Smith.
The anniversary year was yet another exciting year for fashion-related events and notable styles for the British royal family.
