In case you’ve somehow managed to avoid the internet over the last year, you’d know that the world’s most fashionable and beloved young men have had their fill of trending topics and are currently dwelling in their inner circles of Instagram fame.
One of them, who has been a source of constant inspiration to the fashion and lifestyle worlds, is Robert Pattinson. If you’re unfamiliar, Robert Pattinson is a British actor who rose to fame for his role as Prince Robert in the Twilight Saga. Since then, he’s maintained a spotless career as a leading man and is now one of the most recognizable faces in film.
Recently, he’s kept himself busy completing a number of films with action and adventure themes. While on the whole he hasn’t shied away from showing off his good side, he’s also demonstrated that he can be quite the bad boy. In fact, in the past year he’s been in a number of high profile relationships with some of Hollywood’s most famous women. The Evolution Of A Star
Robert Pattinson’s transformation from unknown to fame is quite the story. He first rose to fame when he was chosen to star alongside Kristen Stewart in the Twilight Saga. The pair became a tabloid favorite and their on-screen romance was written about extensively.
They went on to star in four films together, including Twilight and its two sequels. Besides their on-screen chemistry, they also became famous for the paparazzi-studded tales of their off-screen relationship. In 2016, more than a decade after the first Twilight film was released, their story was turned into a bestselling historical romance novel, Team Edward or Team Voltaire? by Stephanie McMillan, published by Simon & Schuster. The film rights were purchased by Fox 2000, who will also be producing a follow-up to the bestselling book, with Stewart and Pattinson set to star.
While some might see the Twilight Saga as legendary, it’s unlikely that anyone could’ve predicted just how successful Pattinson’s acting career would become. He followed the Twilight success with a number of supporting roles in films such as The Hobbit and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. In 2019 alone, he starred in four films and completed a number of projects in development. Not bad for someone who only has a few years under their belt.

It’s almost hard to believe that just a few years ago, Robert Pattinson was, for the most part, an unknown star. He had a few notable roles under his belt, but aside from starring in Twilight, he mostly appeared in supporting roles. He also had a stint as a bartender which he admits isn’t something he particularly enjoys talking about. Most of his on-screen time was spent playing the love interest or best friend of the titular characters. He also had a short-lived relationship with model and television personality Chloe Melas which was chronicled in the tabloids.
As for his off-screen life, it was a largely quiet existence. He continued to live with his family in North London and, according to those who’ve traveled on the set of his films, worked diligently to complete his craft. He credited studying with master class directors such as Lee Tamahori and John Boorman with helping him hone his craft. Aside from a romantic relationship with British Vogue editor Suzy Shurkin and a few others which we’ll get to, there wasn’t a whole lot going on as far as scandal is concerned. That is, until 2018, when Pattinson began to put himself out there more and more. He was dating several women at the same time and even made headlines for showing up to his co-star’s 40th birthday party unexpectedly dressed as Harry Potter.
It was eventually revealed that he was playing for both teams in an attempt to piss off Stewart. The actress, who had recently ended her engagement to French photographer Jean-Marc Vallée, began dating English musician Jimmy Budgen. The tabloids had a field day writing about their whirlwind romance. The story came to a head in January 2019 when a DNA test was performed which revealed that Budgen is not the father of Stewart’s daughter. Vallée has also categorically denied cheating on his fiancee with Pattinson. As a result of the cheating allegations, the two actors broke up.
Things weren’t all bad, however. Budgen went on to marry Stewart just a few months later and the tabloid press, who’d been relentless in their pursuit of the two, took a slight backseat. The newlyweds announced their engagement in May 2019 and will be tying the knot in a glamorous ceremony next year in Venice.

It’s been a wild couple of years for Robert Pattinson, and there’s a lot more to come. He has several projects lined up for the near future, including the lead role in the upcoming Stephen King adaptation Mister Bully. In September 2019, it was announced that he’ll be portraying the legendary comic book writer Jack Kirby in a new film called simply Kirby. We don’t have any specific titles for the other films yet, but they’re all in various stages of production.
Kirby is arguably one of the most influential and important people in American comics history. He co-created the Fantastic Four alongside Stan Lee and, alongside his fellow co-creator, helped lay the foundation for a genre that would go on to change the game forever.
The legendary story-teller died at the age of 94 in June 2018. He was undoubtedly one of the greatest creators of all time and will be sorely missed. While certainly not the first celebrity to face allegations of cheating, Robert Pattinson is certainly one of the most prominent. The ongoing scandal has undoubtedly taken its toll on his personal life and his image as a steady and committed professional has been tarnished, although he has since recovered some of his credibility. While he has been in a number of high-profile relationships in the past year, they’ve all been short-lived, no doubt due to the pressure he’s been facing.
