This year has seen a lot of Hollywood heartbreak. The megastar status of actors and actresses has taken a heavy toll on the entertainment industry, leaving many actors and actresses desperate to work and live in more sustainable, creative, and self-sufficient ways. While we’ve seen many celebrities take a step back from the limelight, there are still many who want to remain in the public eye and continue to work through their issues. One of the biggest issues that our beloved celebrities are facing is the limelight; in some ways, it feels like their careers are on pause, as they don’t feel they can trust producers, directors, or even their fellow co-stars not to destroy their careers for the sake of profit. Many high-profile celebs have opted out of press interviews, refused to do book signings, and essentially gone into hiding to protect themselves and their families.

One of the biggest names to suffer from this fear of losing their reputation is Robert Pattinson. After two very public breakups with the loves of his life, Bella Swan and Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson has taken a vow of silence and isolation, shunning the spotlight and keeping away from social media. The self-imposed exile is seemingly because he doesn’t want his fans to think badly of him, as he doesn’t want anyone to cast aspersions on his love for Stewart. After so long in the limelight, Robert Pattinson must now try to find his place in the industry and become comfortable in his own skin again.

The Batman movie franchise was originally launched in 1941 and featured a single protagonist, named Bruce Wayne. Over the years, the Gotham City based Batman universe has featured numerous sidekicks, rivals, and allies, as well as a series of villains that Bruce Wayne has fought and defeated. In 1989, a movie starring Michael Keaton as Batman was such a huge success that it literallychanged the game for other filmmakers. Since then, every superhero movie has featured some form of a Batman theme, story, or association.

After years of being one of the most recognizable faces in the world, it’s fair to say that Batman has become an iconic figure. However, beyond his role as the Dark Knight and occasional Halloween costume choice, it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes Batman so unique and special. There’s a fine line between being a superhero and being a celebrity, and it’s something that Batman has always walked. There have been numerous cases where high-profile celebrities have tried to live up to the iconic status of Batman, only for their efforts to be compared to Mr. Peabody’s failed adventures as a crime-fighting bear (or, in some cases, a puma). We’ll explore some of these differences in a bit, but first let’s look at Robert Pattinson and see how his decision to stay away from the spotlight has affected his career and future work.

How Is Robert Pattinson’s Career Moving After Abandoning Hollywood?

It’s been almost eight months since Robert Pattinson opted out of the spotlight following his breakups with Kristen Stewart and Bella Swan. The 26-year-old actor has spent the last few months in relative solitude, emerging only for occasional public appearances and recording sessions for upcoming music projects. The singer and songwriter behind some of these projects, Taylor Swift, recently shared a video message on Instagram calling out Pattinson for the the way he’s been treating her.

“Hey @robertpattinson I wrote this for you,” Swift said in the clip as she plays guitar and sings. “I hope you feel better and can continue to make beautiful music.”

While this could have been an opportunity for Pattinson to explain why he’s been staying away from the public, Taylor Swift’s video was the first time that he’d been seen in public since the breakups occurred. Pattinson hasn’t shied away from social media, however, with several interviews and blog posts, as well as a Twitter account that he regularly updates.

The last time that we heard from Robert Pattinson was when he released a cryptic video in January 2019, one week after his breakup with Kristen Stewart. In the video, which was shot in New York City, Pattinson is seen wearing a hood and sunglasses, as he walks down a dimly-lit street. While his exes have occasionally been spotted in his company since the breakup, it’s been an overwhelmingly private existence, one that has not made headlines until now.

A Life in the Public Eye

We’re going to assume that, at this point, you either love or hate Robert Pattinson. If you’re not familiar with him, he is most famous for portraying the teenage king Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise. After the break of the first trilogy, Pattinson largely stayed away from the spotlight, becoming the enigmatic Hollywood recluse that we’ve all come to know and (mostly) love.

While we’ve seen many A-listers struggle with breakups and the ensuing limelight, Pattinson has taken his decision to withdraw even further. He’s shied away from the limelight, refusing to do interviews, appear at fashion events, or even be in the same room as a camera. The last time that we saw Pattinson was in 2016, when he made a cameo appearance in Game of Thrones as a Lannister soldier.

The world may now have access to Pattinson’s innermost thoughts and feelings, but it seems that he’s chosen to keep them to himself. Even more bizarre is that, despite all of this self-imposed solitude, Pattinson has chosen to remain a prolific and in-demand songwriter. With Twilight still hugely profitable for its studio, Summit Entertainment, and his record label, EMINMUSIC, Pattinson is able to continue creating music, even though he’s been largely unwilling to promote it. One of the main reasons behind this refusal to engage with his fans may be to protect them from any possible bad experiences, as he’s obviously felt deeply ambivalent about the whole thing. Even his upcoming movie, the crime thriller Where Curse Begins, seems to be addressing this ambivalence. Set in Japan, the movie follows Nakaya, a woman who seeks revenge on the people that she believes killed her family. In addition to the expected twists and turns that you’d expect from a movie of this nature, the audience is treated to several scenes of Nakaya engaging in karate battles against both human and animal opponents. The fights seem to be a metaphor for the struggle that Nakaya faces, both internally and externally, as she works to overcome her grief and hatred. In one scene, she viciously tears down a wall, only to discover that it was, in fact, her best friend, Mai, who built it. In another, she kills a cat, only to discover that it was her neighbor’s dog that was eating her young, and she feels remorseful towards both animals.

A Life of Contradictions

One of the reasons why so many celebrities, particularly those in the public eye, seem to suffer from so much anxiety is that they’re forced to navigate such complex emotional terrain. It’s one thing to feel bad about yourself; it’s another thing to feel guilty about hurting somebody else, especially if you think that they might hold some ill will towards you. If that’s the case, then the person that you’re feeling guilty about hurting might be the exact person that you need to be feeling bad about. This may apply to a variety of situations, such as when you’re cheating on your partner or doing something that you know is wrong but feel justified in doing. In other words, you’re not always conscious of the fact that you’re contradicting yourself.

For example, let’s say that you’re cheating on your partner, but you feel guilty about it. You might feel bad about cheating on your partner, even though you’re aware that your partner doesn’t know about your infidelity. In this case, you’re feeling guilty about doing something that you know isn’t right, but you can’t help but do it because of your partner. It’s a catch-22 scenario, and it can make you feel desperate and trapped. One way to work through this is by engaging with a trained therapist or counselor, who can help you sort out the different motivations that you have going on simultaneously.

Bruce Wayne, Captain America, and Donald Trump Are Equally Disturbing

While we’re on the subject of celebrities and their place in the spotlight, let’s discuss three more unique individuals who refuse to stay there. First, we have Bruce Wayne, the billionaire playboy turned superhero who first donned the cowl in 1939. Much like Robert Pattinson, Bruce Wayne has largely remained out of the public eye, though he did make a brief cameo appearance as himself in Spiderman 2.
