If you haven’t heard of Robert Pattinson yet, you will soon. The British actor has had quite the year so far. Besides starring in the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, which is set to premiere September 4th on HULU, he also has a solo album out named Postcards From Paris. Now that the summer movie season is just around the corner, let’s take a look at his upcoming roles.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

The first of Robert Pattinson’s upcoming movies is based on the popular video game of the same name. The film is set to premiere on May 17th, 2019. After being forced out of MI-6 by King T’serks, Eggsy (Pattinson) enlists in another secret society of spies, the Kingsman, led by Bill (Hugh Laurie). Together, they battle against an enemy unlike any they have faced before and try to take down the billionaire who destroyed his life. The film also stars Paul Bettany, Jeff Wadlow, and Olivia Colman. The game was developed by Valve and published by Square Enix.

Terminator: Dark Fate

The next film from director Tim Miller and producer Megan Ellison is also set for release on May 17th, 2019. The titular character is back, and this time he is even more badass than before. Dark Fate picks up right where Terminator: Salvation left off. Sarah Connor (played by Linda Hamilton) has lived long enough to see the end of human civilization as we know it. After being captured by Skynet and escaping, she takes refuge with a band of resistance fighters led by Alexander (Ariana Grande). Together, they plan to destroy the computer network that enslaves mankind.

Doom

The next film from director Annabel Jankel is also set for release on May 17th, 2019. In Hellbent, a disgraced priestess named Nola (Saoirse Ronan) travels to the Scottish Highlands to settle a debt that she feels she deserves. Once there, she aligns herself with a group of mercenaries led by a mysterious man named MacLeod (Pattinson) in order to finance the rest of her climb to power. Her goal is to use a dark artifact called the Cudgel to transform herself into the Goddess of War, thus ensuring her place in the afterworld. Of course, nothing is as it seems, and Nola must fight for survival amongst the mercenaries and the otherworldly creatures that roam the Scottish Highlands in search of treasure.

The Irishman

On May 24th, 2019, the Coen Brothers’ next film will be released. The plot of The Irishman follows the early 20th century adventures of American Prohibition agent James M. Haney (Al Pacino). After being forced out of the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco, Haney teams up with Irish mob boss Johnny Depp to hunt down members of the Black Hand, a group of Catholic paramilitaries who committed horrific acts of terror during the Irish War of Independence. The film also stars Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, and Robert de Niro. The Irishman marks the Hollywood pairing of Al Pacino and Joe Pesci for the first time since 1991’s Wild Bill.

The Wedding Ringer

On June 7th, 2019, The Wedding Ringer will premiere. Directed by David Dobkin and starring Daveed Diggs, The Wedding Ringer is a romantic comedy about a man (Diggs) who must choose between his best friend Todd (Dawson Bailey) and the woman he loves, Amy (Krysta Rodriguez). To save his friend’s marriage, the man will impersonate a wedding singer and perform at the big day. Though the movie is set for release, no dates have been set yet for North American theaters.

Ford v Ferrari

On July 5th, 2019, Ford v Ferrari will premiere. Directed by James Mangold and starring Matt Damon, Henry Cavill, and Amy Adams, the film is an adventure-adventure drama about a car race from Los Angeles to New York City. The film marks the Hollywood debut of James Mangold, who is best known for directing the critically acclaimed films The Wolverine and Walk the Line. Though the movie is set for release in the fall of 2019, no dates have been set yet for North American theaters.

Rocketman

The last of Robert Pattinson’s upcoming movies is set for release on October 3rd, 2019. The film will be directed by Taylor Robert and is based on the true story of Elton John and his romance with fellow British singer Ariana Grande. After their break-up, Elton finds himself drawn back to his ex-girlfriend and reluctantly agrees to be her manager. Together, they attempt to make her into the biggest pop star in the world. The film also stars Barry Pepper, Timothee Chalamet, and Laura Harrier. The movie is called Rocketman and was described by the filmmakers as a “love letter to the pop masterpiece that is Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” Rocketman is the first film to be released via the newly created company, Rocket Pictures. The company was co-founded by Grande, John, and his partner Merits Wilding.
