The Making Of Breaking Dawn – Part 2
Ahead of the film’s premiere, we take a look at how Robert Pattinson stepped into the shoes of a living, breathing vampire, how and why he decided to take on the role, and what fans can expect from the sequel to the popular Twilight film series. We also reveal some interesting tidbits about the making of the movie.
Becoming A Vampyre
For those who are yet to see the mesmerising sequel, the following should provide a good idea of what to expect. Brought to life by a team of Oscar-winning special effects wizards, Valkyries, and a slew of A-list celebs, the film sees a transformation scene that will remain etched in your memory for as long as you live. For those who have yet to see it, the above clip is a solid appetizer demonstrating just how phenomenal this transformation scene is, and why it was so well-deserved to be recognised as one of the best in cinematic history.
Why Is Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Important?
Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is a fitting conclusion to the Twilight Saga. Not only does it see the return of some fan-favourite characters, it also marks the end of an era, as it will conclude the original vampire trilogy. It is therefore quite important that fans tune in to see how Robert Pattinson’s final performance as a vampire will be received by the film industry and audiences alike.
In addition to the above, the sequel also serves as a platform for the actor to showcase his burgeoning acting skills. Having impressed audiences with his portrayal of the highly-intriguing Edward Cullen in Twilight, the sequel gives him the opportunity to immerse himself in a larger-than-life role that will showcase his dramatic range. Plus, given the film’s setting, it will provide the audience with a fresh new take on the vampire genre. Combining dazzling special effects with an intense performance from Robert Pattinson, it will undoubtedly be one of the year’s biggest cinematic events.
What Will Happen In Breaking Dawn – Part 2?
For those familiar with the first film, the events of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will seem almost mundane. But this should come as no great surprise, as the movie only deals with the aftermath of Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) transformation into a vampire. In other words, after spending over 200 days as a vampire, Bella sleeps for almost a century, wakes up in the 26th century, and is greeted by her vampire family, including the Cullens. From here, the film splits into two distinct sections. The first section chronicles Bella’s temporary life in the vampire community, where she deals with her new-found supernatural powers and the consequences thereof. The second section follows Bella as she tries to lead a ‘normal’ life in a ‘normal’ world.
While the above synopsis might appear fairly straightforward, certain aspects of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 remain shrouded in mystery, especially given its cliffhanger ending. For one, it is unclear whether or not Bella will retain her human consciousness during these transitions, which will effectively reunite her with her family. Moreover, it is unknown how her new-found vampirism will influence her mental and emotional wellbeing, especially as certain scenes see her acting like a complete and utter sociopath. All will be revealed in due course, but until then, we will have to settle for what is left of the mystery surrounding this intriguing sequel.
So, what do you think of the above? Will you be tuning into Breaking Dawn – Part 2 in theaters this Friday? Let us know!
