I’ve been hearing rumors lately about a potential Batman sequel with Robert Pattinson in the starring role. I’d like to dispel those rumors by discussing what this would mean for the character of Batman and whether or not it’s something that fans want.
Is Robert Pattinson the Right Actor to Play Batman?
There’s a reason why Warner Bros. went with the actor they did: he’s perfect! Not only did they get a superstar on board, but they managed to secure an A-list co-starring role. That’s not easy to do!
While we wait for the next instalment in the Batman franchise, let’s take a moment to appreciate what we have. For one, we have a dark and brooding superhero who is both feared and admired. Then, we have a charming rogue who is a blast to watch in action sequences and snappy one-liners. Most importantly, we have a perfect match for the Caped Crusader in terms of star power and charisma. It seems only fitting that Robert Pattinson would be the next actor to don the Batsuit.
Pattinson’s Style Is a Perfect Match For Batman
Let’s face it, we’re a bit in awe of Batman’s wardrobe. The actor dons a perfectly tailored suit every single time he steps on screen, and it always looks cool as hell. It seems that this is how the Caped Crusader stays fresh on our minds, as many of us still think of him when we see a stylish individual sporting an impeccable attire.
The trailer for the next instalment in the Batman franchise showed off the new suit that Thomas Wayne will be seen wearing. It’s safe to assume that many fans will be happy to see the character back in a suit, as the Batsuit is one of the most recognizable and iconic outfits in comics. It would be an injustice not to give it to an A-list actor, and I’m sure many fans feel the same way.
Pattinson Gets the Brave & Decisive Feel That Batman Needs
If there’s one thing that we have learned about Batman over the years, it’s that the Dark Night is not an option for the Caped Crusader. He will never, ever back down from a fight and he’ll always be willing to put his life on the line to protect the innocent. This character trait makes him a uniquely appealing role model for many young men and women around the world.
The new Batman film will be a direct sequel to the hugely successful Dark Knight, and it’s easy to see why. The previous entry in the series was one of the greatest superhero films ever made and it’s easy to see why Warner Bros. would want to continue down this path. The Dark Knight is a perfect example of the kind of film that would make an ideal transition into a sequel. The action is gripping and never lets up, while the dialogue is frequently hilarious and sprinkled with one-liners. This is what makes the Batman film series so special; it captures the imagination of audiences around the world.
The movie also features the return of both Gary Oldman and Michael Caine as the esteemed Commissioner Gordon and Harvey Dent (respectively). Commissioner Gordon is a central figure in the Dark Knight film, and it’s no secret that he has a big part to play in the upcoming sequel. Hopefully, Oldman’s portrayal of the character will prove to be as commanding as his performance in the previous instalment. It would be a great shame if Oldman’s absence left a huge vacuum in the Commissioner’s role.
Bring Back Alfred & Miranda
Let’s be honest, the majority of us would love to have a better understanding with our loved ones. The ability to speak with our hands and make each other breakfast every day is something that we all crave. Unfortunately, that’s not reality, and I’m sure many of us have had difficult experiences trying to communicate with those around us. That’s one of the reasons why Batman has been so successful – he’s a character who we can all relate to, and it’s easy to understand his desire to help those who can’t help themselves.
The Riddler’s return in the next installment of the Batman film serves as a reminder of why we all love the character of Batman. The wannabe criminal clown is one of the most memorable adversaries that Batman has ever faced. Fans will be happy to see that Penguin and the Riddler are back, as well as a return of fan-favorite characters Alfred and Barbara. Hopefully, the crew over at Warner Bros. will be able to include some of these characters in future installments.
Batman’s Relationship With Women Isn’t Perfect, But It’s Okay
We need to stop pretending like Batman’s relationship with women is perfect. It isn’t. The truth is that it’s probably one of the reasons that Batman has been so successful – he’s never really tried. It’s always been about being the best at what you do and the ladies have always liked that. It’s not that he doesn’t want to connect with other people, but sometimes we need to accept that we can’t. That’s not a bad thing though – it’s the nature of the beast. We need to remember that Batman is indeed a complex character and not just another pretty face.
A perfect actor to play Batman would have to be a combination of everything that we’ve discussed so far. First and foremost, they would have to be able to pull off the perfect suit and tie every single day. Not only does this ensure that we never forget that Batman is indeed a sophisticated individual, but it also shows a level of commitment and pride in their craft. From a fitness standpoint, they would have to be able to pull off the stoic image that Gotham deserves. They would also have to be able to portray the decisive and brave persona that Batman must embody in order to save Gotham.
It’s a tall order, but if we want a Batman film series that continues to entertain us, then these kinds of actors are the ones to see. It’s no secret that Hollywood is overflowing with talented and gorgeous people, but for whatever reason, they keep missing the mark. Hopefully, we’ll see more people like Emily Bluntand Natalie Portman in the near future, portraying women who are both beautiful and intelligent.
