There is no question that Taylor Lautner is one of the most talented rising stars in Hollywood today. The young actor’s charm and charisma are undeniable, and he has proved that time and time again on the big screen with starring roles in films such as the Twilight saga and the upcoming adaptation of Dracula. Most recently, Lautner starred in the popular Divergence series, in which he plays the role of Tristan Lorenz, an ex-boyfriend of Bella’s (played by Emily VanCamp).
With so much buzz surrounding the talented young actor, it’s no surprise that Hollywood has taken notice. Over the years, Lautner has become the object of affection for some of the most prominent figures in the industry. One of those men is Robert Pattinson. The two became friends while filming the Twilight franchise, and the young actor has spent a lot of time in the company of his famous friend over the past few years. After breaking up with his girlfriend of four years, Kristen Stewart, in the summer of 2013, Pattinson began to date again. He immediately picked up where he left off with Stewart, and they had been dating ever since. While it has not been announced whether or not they will be making another romantic entanglement, Pattinson and Lautner have remained close. Just this past December, the two were spotted leaving a fashionable New York City bar together, seemingly confirming their close friendship.
A ‘True Romantic’
One of the most intriguing aspects of the friendship between Pattinson and Lautner is that they appear to be very much a “modern” take on the classic Romeo and Juliette. Unlike most of their contemporaries, Pattinson and Lautner identify as “true romantics” and completely avoid the manufactured trappings of celebrity in favor of spending their time together exploring the world, engaging in intellectual conversations, and creating art. While many in the spotlight live for the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, these two seem to prefer the comfort of a cosy home.
The two are both talented artists who enjoy putting their creative genius to work. In addition to their collaborative paintings, which they share on social media, the two have also composed music and created art installations. Over the years, they have produced a number of films and music videos together. In general, they seem to enjoy the creative process and find it stimulating.
Pattinson is also the vocalist in a band called The High Skies, and they have released one album, titled Songs for Drinks. The group’s latest single, “I Like It When We Dance Without Feeling Desirable,” is a song that Pattinson and Lautner wrote together. According to Rolling Stone, the lyrics of the song “celebrate their affection for each other and the liberating nature of their friendship.”
A Modern Day Romeo And Juliet
In many ways, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are the ultimate “modern” lovers. Like many of their generation, they identify as post-traditional and believe that social media has fundamentally changed the way that people interact with one another. They also see themselves as “equal partners” and want to be treated that way by those around them. While many of their celebrity peers have spent the past decade or so entrenched in social media culture, Pattinson and Lautner have largely avoided the platform and instead focused on creating their own identities as respected actors, musicians, and art-world outsiders.
In general, the two are extremely open about their lives, and they actively encourage others to be just as transparent about their own experiences. They believe that there is no shame in being human, and they want to empower others to be exactly who they want to be. As such, they are frequently seen posing for selfies with fans who identify with mental health issues, drug addiction, or religious intolerance, in order to shed light on the issues that they are passionate about. Furthermore, they believe that celebrities who are open about their personal lives tend to attract more support from the public, giving their work a greater impact. Pattinson And The Impact Of The Twilight Saga
The Twilight saga began back in 2009 with the release of Twilight, directed by Bill Condon. The film was a big hit and introduced many people to the charms of the famous vampire franchise. Although the first movie was largely seen as a vehicle to launch the Twilight brand, it soon became apparent that the film had transcended its initial purpose and become a genuine celebration of vampire culture. The following year saw the release of the sequel, New Moon, and this year will see the culmination of the Twilight saga with the release of the film, Eclipse. Not only will it be the last installment in the series, but it will also be the most expensive film ever made, at least by original cost. The film will also be the longest ever made, clocking in at a massive three hours and forty minutes. Given the popularity of the Twilight films and the fact that they are based on Stephen King’s bestselling novels, the decision to make Eclipse the final film will undoubtedly be seen as a grand gesture by King and Warner Bros. Furthermore, it will provide the franchise with some much-needed breathing space before moving on to different story lines and settings.
The Twilight films have been consistently successful at the box office, with the franchise now holding the record for the biggest midnight opening in history. Furthermore, the latest installment, Condon’s third and final film in the series, is already guaranteed to break the record for the biggest opening weekend. While the Twilight films have never lacked for popularity, it seems that these past few years have seen a rise in interest in all things vampire related. This trend was certainly amplified by the phenomenal success of the Twilight films, and it seems that people are prepared to embrace all things vampire, including the men who play them. Rooftop Picnics And Hotel Chilling
If you are a fan of the Twilight films, then you will almost certainly be aware of the existence of the hotel Belvedere, which made its debut in the first film. The boutique hotel, located on the top floor of the iconic Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, serves as a setting for several pivotal scenes in Condon’s films. It wouldn’t be surprising if the two male lead actors became friends while filming The Twilight Saga. As previously mentioned, the two are arguably poster children for a modern take on the Romeo and Juliette. While many of their contemporaries have spent the past decade or so absorbed in social media, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner have mostly stayed off of the platform and have instead worked to define their own identities as autonomous artists and creators. They have collaborated on numerous films and music videos and have also produced an album together. In addition, the two have also been active participants in various art projects, demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the community. (Photo by Chris Hawthorne/Getty Images)
An Early Start In Hollywood
For those who are unfamiliar, Taylor Lautner was born in the United States but raised in Canada. The young actor’s first taste of fame came at the age of ten, when he starred in the Canadian TV movie, The Adventures of Bobby Ray and became an overnight sensation in the country. A few years later, Lautner reprised his role in a sequel, also titled The Adventures of Bobby Ray, which was even more successful. (Photo by Jason Merrett/Getty Images)
