The new Batman movie is getting a mixed response from fans and critics alike, but one thing is for sure: it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
One of the most anticipated films of 2021 is Batman vs. Robin. The former BFFs are now bitter enemies, and it’s up to our hero to bring justice to the bad guys.
In an effort to promote the upcoming movie, Warner Bros. released a new trailer. And what a trailer it is. The studio didn’t hold back, and we get to see a lot more of Robert Pattinson than we normally see of the caped crusader. In fact, we see enough to know that the actor is fully committed to this role.
New Character
While most folks are fawning over Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Bane in the latest installment of the Batman series, I’ve got something different in mind. We’ve been down this road before with The Dark Knight Rises. I’m sure many of you recall that there were some rumors that Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman would be showing up in Batman vs. Robin. Even though the actress ultimately didn’t play a major role in the film, she did show up in a few scenes.
And now it’s happened again. In the latest trailer for Batman vs. Robin, we see a character that I’ve never seen before. It’s a pretty cool-looking character, too. From the looks of it, we can deduce that he’s based on the classic comic book character Blue Devil, who’s actually a demon in disguise. We’ll just call him Devil for short.
And it seems like Robert Pattinson is totally into playing Devil. Even though Hardy wasn’t in full-on devil mode for the majority of the film, Pattinson takes it to a whole other level. In one scene, we see him transform completely into the character. And it’s pretty damn impressive.
So what makes this version of Devil so special? Well, for one thing, he’s very skilled at taking down enemies with his bare hands. In the trailer, he beats up an entire room of people, including Batman. And all of this happens right in front of Robin’s eyes. It’s not a pretty sight. But that’s what makes this version of Devil so much fun to watch. You know it’s coming, but you still can’t help but laugh at his antics and tryhardiness.
No Hints Of A Merry Maid
Let’s not forget about the other big villain in Batman vs. Robin. I’m sure many of you are aware that Joker is going to be making a comeback in the 2021 film. There were rumors that Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker would be showing up in a small role. Even though this hasn’t come to fruition yet, you can bet that we’re going to see a lot more of that infamous villain in the next installment. And it probably shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, considering that Phoenix himself seems to be in full-on Joker mode for Batman vs. Joker. So much so that he’s willing to go to extreme lengths to embody the Joker’s personality and way of speaking. In fact, at one point in the trailer, we even see a severed hand.
But while there’s no denying that Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker is one of the most brilliant and terrifying villains in movie history, I can’t help but feel bad for the guy. I mean, the man has been through a lot. His publicist released a statement saying that Joker’s mental health is a source of concern. And although he’s undoubtedly one of the most talented actors of his generation, this is undoubtedly a lot of stress for someone who is already 39 years old. But who knows? Maybe this is the best chance he’s ever going to get to play the character he loves most in the world. And who am I to stand in the way of that? I mean, I’d love to see Phoenix play the Joker in a Marvel movie. But at least for now, he’s got Batman.
A Whole New Direction
Even though we’ve been down this road before with The Dark Knight trilogy and Bane, Batman vs. Robin is going to be a whole new ballgame. From the looks of it, this is the boldest and most ambitious Batman movie to date. And that’s a good thing. Let’s be honest, the last Batman movie was pretty cool. But it’s also time for the character to evolve. We’re in the midst of a new golden era for Batman, and it’s about time. With all the great villains coming back and the world building we’ve never seen before, it’s time to put a cap on all this nostalgic gloom and to embrace the darkness. So to speak.
With the upcoming reboot of the Suicide Squad, we’re going to see a whole new direction for the character. One that’s been long needed. And even though the trailer doesn’t give away too much, we can already see that it’s going to be something different. Even though there are some similarities, this is going to be a whole new ballgame. And that’s what we need. As I’ve been saying for years, once the ball is rolling, it’s hard to put it back on the stop. Besides, Suicide Squad is also going to be a great opportunity for Jared Leto to show off his acting skills. Which are many. And just recently, he delivered an excellent performance in Serpico. So let’s not forget about that. And even though it’s a completely different character, I’m sure many of you will be able to identify with Vibe. His acting skills certainly aren’t limited to just one character. He’s pretty good, to be honest. So let’s not forget about him, either.
The trailer for Batman vs. Robin dropped yesterday, and already people are talking about it. It’s a mixed bag from critics and fans alike, but everyone seems to have one thing in common: they’re excited about what’s to come. This is a good thing, because it means we’re getting more than one thing we want, and that’s always a good thing. Especially when you’re talking about the Batman series. It wouldn’t be hard to see why fans are excited about this upcoming film. Not only is it the start of a new era for the iconic character, but it’s also the first time we’ve seen this particular version of the character since director Matt Reeves took over. In the last few years, fans have grown tired of the same old shtick. It was time for a change, and Reeves brought that change with him. But while Joker is undoubtedly one of the greatest villains of all time, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of you feel that Reeves’ take on the character is a step too far. Especially since it doesn’t seem like he’s toned down his antics at all. In fact, he even seems to be reveling in them. And that’s not the type of performance you usually see from this character. So while some people may love what they’re seeing, it’s probably not for everyone. But that’s what we need. As I’ve been saying for years, once the ball is rolling, it’s hard to put it back on the stop. Besides, that’s why we love the Batman series. It’s always evolving, changing with the times, and pushing the envelope. It’s more than a game now. It’s our culture. And it’s always been that way. As long as there’s been a Batman, there’s always been something new to discover.
