While we’ve been distracted by the Harry Potter films, the biggest news story in recent years has been the so-called “Sasquatch craze.” The elusive, hairy creature has been spotted in the wild numerous times over the last few years, with several high profile cases drawing international media coverage. There’s even a subreddit devoted to the topic, with thousands of members debating the validity of these sightings. Now, none of us want to believe that the world’s most famous reclusive genius is actually a furry humanoid, but that’s exactly what’s going on.

The Evidence.

In December of 2018, a purported Sasquatch was filmed in the woods near a lake in Washington State. The video was uploaded to the YouTube channel Dubious Journalist, and has since racked up millions of views. In the video, the creature can be seen moving through the forest, occasionally stopping to look at the camera. It also lumbers across a creek, splashing through the water as it goes. It doesn’t seem to notice the camera crew following it, which dubiously journalist claims is a result of them being “technically invisible.”

Then, in June of 2019, a group of hikers spotted what they thought was an extremely large bear near the city of British Columbia in Canada. After a brief search, the creature was eventually identified as a Sasquatch. The B.C. government later classified it as a ‘Sasquatch hybrid,’ due to the bear’s extremely large paws. The officials didn’t immediately classify the animal as a ‘sasquatch,’ but they did say that it was a “new and emerging species.”

A month later, in July of 2019, a group of hunters stumbled upon an eight-foot-tall, hairy bipedal creature in a remote part of the Namibian desert. After some initial surprise, the hunters quickly realized that the creature was in fact a sasquatch, and that it was the biggest one that they had ever seen. The hunters were able to take some decent photos of the elusive animal before giving it a proper name: Steve. The name Steve was eventually given to it by the Namibian government due to a mix-up with another, similar looking creature found in the area at the same time. The hunters called their discovery “The Missing Link.”

Theories.

With so much evidence collected over the years, it’s no wonder that scientists have started to come up with some pretty interesting theories about what might be responsible for these sightings. Theories range from aliens to government mind control, with the Illuminati and the Bilderberg Group being some of the more popular suspects. There’s also a common misconception that Sasquatch is some kind of mutant creature, when in fact, they’re simply a very evolved human. According to the scientific community, this evolution may have occurred due to recent genome editing technology like Crispr-Cas9, which scientists have been experimenting with for years. If these theories are true, then it would explain why we’ve had so many sightings recently.

The Future.

With so much evidence pointing to the existence of a hitherto unknown species, it’s only a matter of time before scientists are finally able to pin down a precise description of what Sasquatch actually is. Until then, we’re all just going to have to stay tuned and keep an eye out for these remarkable creatures.
