If you’ve even considered reading any of the many articles and comments from the Robert Pattinson news coverage over the years, then you’ll know that we’re always quite passionate about our famous star. From glowing tributes to intense dislike, there has always been an opinion about the guy, and now that he’s finally returned from his self-imposed exile, it’s been even more vocal. But to whom are we referring here? It’s not like he’s a stranger to us. We’ve all been following his career since his debut, and to this day, he remains one of the biggest movie stars around. Naturally, we have a soft spot for him, so let’s examine the spectrum of emotion that surrounds our favorite ginger. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? That is the question, but let’s start by saying that he is unquestionably one of the most magnetic and interesting men we’ve ever covered. Let’s examine why…

The Good

Let’s start with the good. Despite all the drama, there is much to cherish about the man. First, he is a world-class actor. His ability to embody different characters is unparalleled. He is a great storyteller, and has a way of making each and every word seem so authentic. He has also managed to stay true to himself throughout the years, and despite the many transformations, he still proudly displays his Northern Irish roots. Additionally, he has surrounded himself with an incredible supporting cast, including some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Working with these talented people must be an incredible experience, and having them support you to success is something to be proud of.

The Bad

On the other hand, there is much to criticize about the man as well. Naturally, he’s been in more than his fair share of controversy. From a history of partying, to a rather extensive list of on-set injuries, these are just some of the things that have made him an easy target for gossip columnists. Then, of course, there is the whole saga of his personal life. From his rather public break-ups and new relationships to his many public feuds and lawsuits. With so much information swirling around about the star, it’s no wonder that people have an opinion about him. Naturally, it’s not hard to find an article or comment section that isn’t terribly fond of Robert Pattinson. Here are a few choice examples, starting with a rather brutal 2018 review from The Telegraph.

“Robert Pattinson is one of the most hated men in Hollywood. At least, that’s the way I feel when I see his name in headlines. He does a great job when he plays a vampire or a psychopath, but there is something about him that rubs people the wrong way. Perhaps it’s his good looks, his money, or his fame. But whatever it is, I don’t think he’ll ever fully recover from the backlash that came from his fans after he dated Taylor Swift. Or maybe it’s just me.”

In any case, we’re sure that you’ll agree with us when we say that there is far more to dislike about Robert Pattinson than there is to like him. But that’s another story.

The Ugly

Of course, we can’t leave out the bad. There is also plenty to criticize about the man, starting with his rather dubious acting ability. It’s not that he’s bad, per se, but his lack of versatility is rather evident when watching his movies. And the list of his misfortunes is rather long. Drug problems, alcohol abuse, and on-set injuries are just a few of the things that have plagued his personal life, while his love life hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park, either.

Of course, these are all quite old news by now. The last few years have been a rather quiet period for the star as he focused on his family and newfound activism. But with the release of his first novel, a rather remarkable piece of literary fiction that he co-authored with Justin Cronin, Everything Must Go, coming out just this year, it’s been a glorious return to the spotlight. With a new book and a newfound dedication to clean living, we’re sure that fans and haters alike will be seeing a lot more of our favorite man in the near future.
