Many people may know that actor Robert Pattinson is in a relationship with music-video director Sophie Elka. The couple have been together since 2014 and recently confirmed they were expecting their first child together.

But did you know that Robert is actually related to Vlad the Impaler? He has an ancestor who was a seventh-generation descendant of Vlad the Impaler. Through this link, he has a claim to the throne of Wallachia. And it seems that the Twilight actor may be entitled to this royal throne. According to Sophie, who is expecting the couple’s first child, they are going to claim the Wallachia throne as their own after King George’s death. When asked about this by Clothes Show, Sophie said:

“Yes, absolutely. It’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to claim the throne of King George when he dies. That’s the plan.”

Robert has previously cited his connection to Vlad the Impaler as a symbol of his authority and to distinguish himself from other Englishmen. He has also said that he admires the Romanian ruler, adding:

“There are good aspects to his character.”

It seems that Robert has been influenced by his famous ancestor, especially when it comes to fashion. In 2016, the actor wore an elegant suit with an inner lining of snakeskin. While another photo from that year shows him in a dress embroidered with the portrait of the impaler. The fashion choices may not be a coincidence, as Robert’s sister, Rosie, is also a stylist.

But does this mean that Robert will adopt a more oriental aesthetic when he takes the throne? As the Twi-hards may know, the impaler was best known for his habit of wearing animal suits, and it is rumored that Robert will do the same when he becomes king. Will the fashion icon of the 21st century claim the throne of Wallachia? Stay tuned.
