Hi. My name is Robert Pattinson, and I have an AMA coming up on Reddit. I know what you’re thinking — another one of those “wondering if his AMA will be a bomb or a home run” things. Well, let me put your mind at ease. This one is going to be a home run. Let’s get ready to rumble.
Amateur Athletic Association
I’ve always been a bit of a fanatic when it comes to sports. I played football, volleyball, and basketball in school, and after I graduated I played for a number of professional teams in England. In 2015 I got the itch to travel and see the world, and since then I’ve been living in Sydney, Australia. I love my new country, and especially the Sydney scene, which I’ll be happy to talk about. But that’s enough about me, let’s get to the point.
The Question
An important and defining characteristic of an AMA is that the questions come from users, and the answers come from the AMA participant. But what’s most interesting about my upcoming AMA is that it isn’t your usual question-and-answer session. I’m not going to try to answer every question that I’m asked in the comments, and I want to keep things interesting for the readers, so I’ve decided to play it by ear and see what happens. Here’s the deal: I’ll be answering questions from users with a score or more votes. After that, the really interesting stuff begins.
The Process
Last year I had a lot of fun doing the AMA with the last band I played in. We opened up for the Foo Fighters in London, and the fans who came to see us were absolutely incredible. I got to meet a lot of people who were into my music, and it was fun to be able to chat with them about what I was doing. So this year I decided to do something similar, only instead of a concert, I’m going to be doing an AMA with Reddit. Like last year, the whole thing is going to be streamed live, and you’re all invited to come and watch. That’s all the information you need to have about the AMA. Now, it’s time to rumble.
Why Reddit?
I love Reddit. I think it’s one of the finest platforms out there. It’s open to the public, which means anyone can post anything, which means it’s a great place for people to come and ask me questions. Plus, I want to continue the Foo Fighters tradition and do an AMA with the biggest audience I can get. Reddit is the best place for that. Finally, I think Redditors are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They’re incredibly intelligent, and they always remember your name, even if it’s been a few years since you talked to them. So, as you can see, there are a lot of reasons why Reddit is the perfect platform for the Robert Pattinson AMA.
How Do I Sign Up?
Go to https://www.reddit.com/ and click the link in the top right to “Join the Conversation.” Once you’re there, you can either create a new account or log in with your Facebook account. You’ll see a red button at the top left: it’s the “Join” button. Once you click that you’ll be brought to a screen where you can enter some details about yourself.
If you want to be able to participate in the AMA, you have to be signed up by Friday, October 19th, at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (UTC-05:00). So don’t wait until the last minute to sign up!
