It seems like just yesterday that we were being inundated with photos of Robert Pattinson. The former “Twilight” star was having one of the most memorable and popular romantic moments of the year when he proposed to his girlfriend, Eve Gill.
Since then, the 31-year-old actor has gone on to have a career that’s spanned both film and television. He’s graced the big and small screen with his charming and dashing presence, making us melt into puddles of girliness every time he arrived on-screen. We’d like to think that he’s maintained the same delightful blend of good looks and kindness all these years.
While we may have seen the best of Pattinson on-screen, it’s no secret that he’s been extremely private about his personal life. However, that has started to change. Now that he has a fiancé and a daughter to protect, the actor has opened up about motherhood, marriage, and his new family in an incredibly moving and intimate manner. Here are some of our favorite photos of Robert Pattinson that you may have missed.
The Proposal
We Can Never Get Enough of This Engagement Ring
It’s fair to say that, since the proposal, Pattinson’s Instagram has been flooded with thousands of engagement rings. From traditional white-tie proposals to personal meetings at movie sets, the couple’s story has been documented in all its beautiful, if a little unrealistic, glory. The biggest question is: Does he really want to spend the rest of his life with Eve? Or is he doing this as a publicity stunt to sell more books? Whatever the case may be, we’re completely and utterly in love with their commitment to each other.
The Daughter He Never Had
Pattinson adopted his daughter, Luna, in 2014. The actor, who has always been very protective of his private life, has revealed that having a child has changed his perspective on certain things. “I feel more stable, and I feel like I can be a good father. I never had the chance to be a proper father. I was too busy being famous,” he told Elle UK. “Before I had Luna, I had a lot of anxiety. I was always worried about money and fame. But having a daughter has given me a new responsibility, and I feel more grounded.”
A Debutante Ball In Beverly Hills
The actor, who’s represented by talent agency WME, was featured in OK! Magazine as part of their inaugural “Debutante Ball” in Beverly Hills. The magazine’s cover story profiled some of the most stylish and fashionable young women in the city. One of the events that caught our eye was the ball’s spectacular grand entrance. As guests entered the mansion to take a peek at the fabulously dressed young women, a line of escorts, all of them wearing elaborate dresses, stepped forward to welcome them. These lovely ladies were there to ensure the guests had a good time and that their gowns looked as good as new. And what a good time they had! The young women, who were all in attendance at the ball, looked stunning as they mingled and enjoyed themselves. We especially love how the escorts’ dresses matched the décor of the night—an elegant pink, white, and blue theme—and how the accessories matched the dresses too! It was a gorgeous sight to see.
An Appearance With Kate Moss At The MET Gala
Pattinson was one of the celebrity attendees at the MET Gala in New York last June. The designer Marc Jacobs was honored for his work, and the night was a celebration of his designs. Among the other guests, Pattinson was spotted chatting casually with supermodel Kate Moss. The duo looked like they were having a wonderful time as they took selfies and chatted with other famous faces. That’s not all they did. The actor also got up from his seat and danced with Moss. It was a sweet moment between two good friends who clearly have a lot of affection for each other.
The Grand Entrance At The Baftas
The British Academy of Film and Television Awards, more commonly known as the BAFTAs, honored Pattinson with a Fellowship at the 2015 ceremony in London. The actor received the prestigious accolade for his role as Charles Dickens in the miniseries “Dickensian.” He was surrounded by his “Little Plum” co-stars as he accepted the award. Afterward, he and his family made a grand entrance, walking down the red carpet together. The BAFTAs also bestowed upon the actor an Outstanding Achievement in a Variety Special for his role as author J.M. WESTON in “J.M. WESTON: The Man Who Invented Sherlock Holmes,” which aired on PBS in 2014. While we’re sure that Pattinson was flattered to receive this much recognition for his work, it came as a bit of a surprise to learn that he hadn’t been nominated for any awards in the first place. It’s clear that the media and the fans feel that he’s been unfairly overlooked in the past, and that this year’s honor represents a well-deserved recognition for the actor.
The Solo Exhibition
One of the highlights of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival was the solo exhibition, “Robert Pattinson: A Retrospective.” The exhibition, which was on view from April 24 to May 28, featured about 30 of the actor’s pieces of artwork, ranging from photographs to posters and drawings. While looking at these, you’re bound to be reminded of all that Pettiness, as he’s affectionately known among his fans, has been through.
Pattinson, who took on the exhibition as a sort of homage to himself, told the New York Times, “It’s like looking in a mirror. When you go back to your past, you’re going to see these things you did as a kid. You’ll recognize yourself—the person you wanted to be and the person you were.” As much as we enjoyed seeing this representation of Pettiness’ creative process, it’s hard not to be a little bit envious of what he’s created. While we watch films and TV shows about famous people’s glamorous lives, it’s nice to be reminded that not all celebrity is born of fame. Sometimes, it’s just good old-fashioned hard work and dedication.
