The ‘Harry Potter’ star is best known for playing the role of Cedric Diggory in the blockbuster films ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’. Although he has kept a relatively low profile since leaving the spotlight, Robert has developed a following thanks to his clean cut look and trendy accessories. Now, it seems, he’s aiming to make a comeback with a new clothing range.
The 33-year-old is launching a men’s and women’s clothing line inspired by British designer Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic wedding dress. The Hollywood star’s choice of bridal ensemble has caused something of a fashion furore, with many fans expressing their disappointment that he has chosen to ape a style that she herself has named after. But it’s well known that Robert is a true fan of Taylor’s work, having designed the official Elizabeth Taylor fan club’s merchandise, and it seems that he sees this as a unique opportunity to make his own mark on the fashion industry.
Pattinson has styled his range of clothing after Taylor’s 1950s-inspired gown, made famous when she wed her third husband, oil tycoon Eddie Fisher. The designer’s first collection, an adaptation of the classic white wedding dress with blue accents, was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s unique sense of style. The designer credited the actress with helping to shape her taste in fashion, particularly when it came to men’s trousers, which she claimed to have “adopted” after noticing that Fisher wore them a lot.
The designer’s second collection, made up of bold prints and florals, was inspired by the Elizabeth Taylor Classic Collection, which the designer observed the actor wearing on the silver screen. As well as bringing out the best in Robert’s features, the designer’s clothes have given him a whole new persona. With his dark hair and eyes, the actor blends effortlessly into almost any environment, and it seems that he hasn’t taken his fashion credentials lightly – boasting a collection that is both fashionable and practical.
Elaborate Accessory Range
In addition to his clothing range, Robert has designed a number of fashionable accessories, including watches, jewellery and sunglasses. One of the most unique items is his elaborate gold and diamond-studded Spencer cuff, named after the famous English barrister and politician Lord Spencer, who served as the Attorney General for England from 1902 to 1905. Spencer was also the grandfather of Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
The ‘BFFs’ (best friends forever) star was given the task of designing the range of accessories as a gift for his upcoming birthday. Inspired by classic cocktails and tumblers, the luxury goods maker Alfred Dunhill asked Robert to create a line of luxurious accessories for men and women. The designer’s office was decked out in pink and gold, the design team were provided with fresh fruit and alcoholic drinks to get the creative juices flowing, and Robert revealed that the range has already helped to improve his lifestyle. “I’ve always been interested in fashion and design, so I thought this would be a good task to do while I’m still young,” he said. “I enjoy the process and what I’m learning as I go along. It’s very rewarding.”
As well as designing the range, the ‘Harry Potter’ star is also lending his support to Alfred Dunhill as the face of their new brand. The designer, who has designed the costumes for the ‘Harry Potter’ films, explained the importance of having an A-list celebrity endorse their products, assuring customers that they can purchase something fashionable whilst feeling confident that they’re making the right choice for their needs. “We want people to recognise the value and quality of our products, and having a famous face like Robert’s behind the brand is a great way to achieve that,” he said.
The Designer’s Choice
It appears that the designer has enjoyed his new-found fame and is looking to cash in on his new found status. Revealing that he’s now earning an “incredible” amount of money, Robert said: “I’ve never really been one to shy away from a challenge, and this has certainly been a massive challenge. But it’s also been a dream come true.”
Indeed, it seems that having left the limelight behind him, Robert has found his mojo and is looking to make a comeback, with his fashion and lifestyle choices proving his commitment to both. Whether or not we’ll see the ‘Harry Potter’ star grace the red carpet in the near future remains to be seen, but for now, at least, it seems that he’s having fun and making the most of his time off.
