Hello gorgeous readers! If you’re looking for some hot celebrity gossip, you’ve landed in the right place. We’ll be discussing the most recent developments in the world of Hollywood, including the ever-popular topic of vegan and vegetarian diets, and of course, we’ll be including some delicious recipes for you to try at home.

Veganism And Vegetarianism

As you may have guessed, we’re huge fans of the vegan and vegetarian lifestyles here at All Things Vegan. Not only do we believe that more and more people should go green to save the planet, but we also think that being vegan reduces your carbon footprint, cuts out expensive food items that would otherwise end up in a landfill, and prevents animal cruelty.

While we love to eat cheese and dairy products, we don’t promote or condone the abuse of animals for food. We may eat eggs and/or butter occasionally, but we prefer to avoid them as much as possible.

More People Are Going Green

With the world’s leading environmentalists recently decrying the state of the environment as worse than they’ve ever seen it, it’s clear that people are starting to take steps to protect the planet. According to the United Nations, nearly 70% of the world’s population now live in cities, and that number is predicted to hit 80% by 2030.

Along with eating less meat and dairy products, millennials (Generation Y) are also more likely to prefer to buy products that are ethical or sustainable. In fact, a whopping 80% of millennials will choose food products that support animal rights over those that don’t, according to a recent study by the Non-GMO project and Sumallam.

One of the biggest factors contributing to the rise in veganism is the influence of social media. Thanks to influencers like @itsJessieKwan, who has nearly half a million followers on Instagram, and YouTube stars like Nima Arkani-Hamilton, who boasts over 1.5 million views on her channel, millennials are constantly being bombarded with images of cute animals, sensual foods, and beautiful people.

Pizza Is Back

As we’ve established, we love a good pizza when we’re not working. To us, pizza is more than a food group; it’s a lifestyle. We may make exceptions for some of the most popular pizzas in Hollywood, but for the most part, we believe that pizza should be in your life every day. This is especially true if you’re in Los Angeles, as we know the best pizza is to be found right here.

With all of this talk of veganism and vegetarianism, it’s clear that pizza is going to be trendy for a while. Demand for vegan cheese and vegan meats is expected to increase by 2022, reaching a value of over US$200 million.

Recipes From The Set Of Toy Story 4

While we can’t say for sure that we’ll see a surge in veganism following the premiere of Toy Story 4 this week, the movie is certainly expected to attract audiences, thanks in part to its all-star cast that includes Andy Warhol and Joan Rivers. Both are renowned for their love of food and drinks, with Rivers stating that she prefers eating chocolate over sandwiches because it “has more calories.”

Based on the popular characters from the Disney series, Toy Story 4 will be released in theaters on June 21st. In the film, the infamous Pizza Planet restaurant will serve as a front for a dangerous criminal organization, led by John Boy Walton (voiced by Jeff Goldblum). The organization dispatches a professional hitman, Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Richard Simmons), to kill the new president of Pizza Planet, who happens to be Andy’s best friend, Walter (voiced by Will Smith). Meanwhile, when Andy’s favorite toy, Rex, goes missing, it’s up to him to find the notorious bandit and save his friend’s life.

Since we’re big fans of Toy Story and of all things Woody, we couldn’t resist taking a peek at how the classic children’s film influenced the new movie. Let’s take a trip to Pizza Planet and have a look around.

A Tour Of The Restaurant

We’ll start our tour of the restaurant with a look at the iconic menu. If you’ve been to Pizza Planet in the past, you’ll probably recognize most of the items on it. You may have even seen some of them in earlier blog posts. For example, the Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the Cobb Salad, and the Paradise Salad are all dishes we’ve previously covered in-depth.

That’s the great thing about a restaurant like Pizza Planet, as everything on the menu has been seen and loved by at least one person. Take the breakfast item for example. The Breakfast at Tiffany’s was based on a true story, and the movie brought to life the essence of that meal, as seen on the menu above. The movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s was first released in 1966, and the menu item was inspired by that film, which focuses on a young woman’s (Grace Kelly) visits to the famous jewelry store, where she meets the wealthy Mr. Blake (James Garner). The two strike up a friendship, and she ends up staying at his apartment, which is decked out with all of her favorite accessories and jewels. As you may have guessed, Mr. Blake wants to steal her away from Grace’s true love, Ethan (Frederick Downs), so he can marry her. What could be more romantic than that?

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what Walter’s romantic gesture will be in the movie. He’s going to give Andy a pizza to “celebrate” his birthday. We can already see the romantic comedy in this scene. What Walter doesn’t know is that Andy’s birthday is on Saturday, not Friday. While there are only four seasons in the United States, there are in fact five in the southern hemisphere, including the Southern Autumn. In the movie, this is going to be a crucial detail that separates Walter and Andy’s romance from the real-life friendship that they share.

One of the things that makes Toy Story 4 so delightful is that it honors the uniqueness of its source material. Take Mr. Goldblum’s character for example, who is a master of disguises and one of the first characters we meet. In the movie, he will use his unique garb and mannerisms to convince Andy that he is in fact, Walt, the brother he never had. The way the character and the actor represent themselves in the movie is spot-on. On the other end of the spectrum, we have Jeff Goldblum’s character, John Walton, who is very straightforward and honest, traits that are also represented accurately in the film.

We shouldn’t be surprised that Richard Simmons, the original “Human Beat Box,” would become the character Bruno in Toy Story 4. While the character is largely unchanged, the actor is inspired by his portrayal of the band leader in the 1995 film, Toy Story. If you’ve yet to see it, you can stream it on Netflix.

Rex’s Grand Adventure

While we’re on the subject of Richard Simmons, let’s take a quick detour into Rex’s (Tom Hanks) world, shall we? Simmons is not the only actor to lend their voice to Toy Story 4. The popular yellow dinosaur has also been the voice of a number of films, including 2018’s Toy Story Land, where he is seen front and center in a retail scene.

One of the best things about Rex in Toy Story 4 is his reaction to some of the food items on the menu. Let’s have a look at how he interacts with some of the items.

A Tour Of The Kitchen

As you may have guessed, since this is a vegan restaurant, we couldn’t resist taking a peek inside the kitchen. We’ll start with what is arguably the greatest invention of all time: the microwave.

Whether you’re a fan of the meal or not, we think that microwaves are an essential part of any kitchen.

In the Toy Story kitchen, we can see that microwaves are used to heat food quickly, and they certainly come in handy during the day. Without them, preparing food for the five children who live in the neighborhood would be very difficult. Fortunately, microwaves make quick work of heating food, so the chef (or assistant chef, in this case) doesn’t have to spend as much time in the kitchen as she does now. This means more time for creativity and innovation, which ultimately leads to an improvement in the restaurant’s food and service.

What Will Become Of Pizza Planet?

With all of this talk of pizza, it’s time for some speculation. What will become of Pizza Planet? Will there be any more eateries like it? Will the brand even exist in five years?
