It was only a matter of time before the news about Robert Pattinson’s new movie leaked online. Since the first Twilight film, the British actor has been inundated with film offers and has kept pretty much to himself as a result. However, he has now opened up to the press about his next movie, which is set to be released in 2019.
The actor has become something of a recluse since the first Twilight film. Since then, he has mostly shied away from the spotlight, only appearing in smaller projects here and there. While he has not ruled out future collaborations with Stephenie Meyer, he has not been in the public eye since he was seen alongside Kristen Stewart at the 2018 Golden Globes. Since then, he has been working on his new movie, which will be released in 2019.
Plot Details
Details about the plot are sparse, but we know that Pattinson will be playing the lead role of David Marks. Lee partners with Detective Joe Ransom to get to the bottom of what began as a string of seemingly inexplicable homicides. But as the bodies start to pile up, the police are forced to reexamine their methods and question whether or not they are dealing with a professional or a madman. What is revealed is the shocking conclusion that they are, in fact, both. As the investigation progresses, the detectives discover that Berkowitz is not only a professional but also a prodigy, whose ingenious mind and vast knowledge are beyond his years. Soon after, it is revealed that Berkowitz’s parents were both killed by the same gun. This leads the detective to question whether or not the killings were a sign of revenge or something worse. With the media circus surrounding the case getting under his skin and a police psychologist suggesting that he is in fact a product of his environment, Lee has to decide whether or not to take matters into his own hands and end the life of this bizarre ‘boy genius.'”
Pattinson will be joined by an ensemble cast of renowned Hollywood names. While we don’t know who else will be playing a role in the movie, we do know that DeVito, who will be co-writing and co-directing, will be appearing in the movie. He will play the role of Al Ruddy, the corrupt city police captain who is partnered with Lee. He is known for his role in the classic movie Death on the Nile. Other notable names that will be appearing in the film include John Goodman (who will be playing the role of Sheriff Frank Hollis), Michael Shannon (who will be playing the role of Jack Scagnetti), and Bill Hader (who will be playing the role of Detective Larry Briscoe). This should be enough to get you hyped up for the movie.
Release Date
The film will be released on August 8, 2019, so you will have to make your way to the theaters early in the morning to catch it. It is worth noting that this is the same day that the new Godzilla movie will be released. While they are completely different entities, it is still a bit of an odd matchup considering that both Godzilla and the Son of Sam are slated for release on the same day.
The official synopsis for the newly released Godzilla vs. King Kong has not been released yet, but we know that it stars William H. Macy and Thomas M. Wright as the adult versions of the Kong and Godzilla characters, respectively. Wright will be playing the role of the elder statesman of Godzilla movies, which are slated to start in 1939 with the first film produced by the studio Toho. This will be the first installment in what is supposed to be a trilogy, and it is also the first time that the two iconic characters have been on screen at the same time. According to recent reports, the film will be a mixture of drama and comedy, which should make it interesting indeed.

Here’s a little bonus trivia for you: Mad Max was also the movie that launched the career of Kate Winslet, and she briefly appears in one of the Son of Sam movies as well. In the film, Winslet’s character is kidnapped by a group of bandits and held hostage for a while. She is eventually set free, but not before the two share a passionate kiss.
