The past year has been a whirlwind for celebrities. We saw some incredible performances that made us appreciate our favorite stars all that more. One of the biggest surprises of 2014 was Robert Pattinson. The actor stunned the world by declining his multi-million-dollar contract with Waterstone and choosing to forego further films to focus on his New Year, new love, and new baby. He got married to his longtime love, Eve, and welcomed a baby boy in October. Now that he’s a father, we can’t help but wonder when will he make his grand return to the big screen? While we wait for that magical day, here are some of the hottest movies coming in the next 12 months that we can’t wait to see.

Guardians of the Galaxy

One of the most beloved superheroes of all time, Peter Quill, adopts a baby Groot as his own in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Peter is a man of unique habits – he loves to eat pizza and skateboard – and the quirks of this alien fruit prove to be endlessly entertaining. While this may be a “small” Marvel movie, it’s still got some big names starring in it. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista are just a few of the famous faces playing a part in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Hollywood is often criticized for its excessive materialism, but sometimes the movies that come out of this criticism are so amazing that they justify all the hype. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is one of those rare films. It’s the fifth installment in the “X-Men” franchise and the first to introduce us to a time-traveling Wolverine. We’ve been eagerly anticipating this one since the first rumors began to surface. Some of the biggest names in Hollywood are returning for “Days of Future Past,” including Hugh Jackman and Oscar-winner Halle Berry. The movie also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and Nicholas Hoult. We’re in for something special.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Another Marvel movie that’s been highly anticipated is “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” The sequel to “The Avengers” is set to premiere in just over a month and will again feature Robert Downey Jr. as Ironman and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. In case you didn’t know, Marvel is a subsidiary of Disney, which owns both “Avengers” and “Star Wars.” This is a huge deal because not only is Disney the company that owns Marvel, but it’s also the company that owns Marvel Studios. That means “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will be executive produced by Marvel Studios President and Producer Kevin Feige. This is the type of connection that makes us realize how much we love this industry.

Captain America: Civil War

“Captain America: Civil War” promises to be the most highly anticipated comic book movie of the year and with good reason. The 2016 movie will be the culmination of 10 years of storytelling and mark the beginning of a brand new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie will show us the consequences of the recent Marvel Cinematic Universe movies as they come together in a massive battle pitting the Avengers against each other. The action-adventure movie is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and stars Chris Evans, Ironman, Captain America, and Spiderman. We can’t wait to see how these superheroes will finally settle their differences – and we’ll finally get to see the Spiderman movies the way they were meant to be seen!

Logan

Finally, let’s not forget about Logan. Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine will be one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. The Wolverine sequel will continue the story of Logan, the X-Men’s most adamant nemesis, as he tries to cope with his mortality. The Wolverine sequel will also star Charles Xavier’s (Professor X) great-granddaughter, Laura (Dana Ghosh), the adamantium-clawed mutant Hellfire (Emily Mortimer), and the returning Ryan Reiter (Daken). Jackman will also reportedly undergo a complete physical transformation to play Logan. We can’t decide if we’re more excited about the potential for a beautiful and brutal confrontation between Logan and Jackman or the final frontier that awaits Hugh Jackman.

These are just a few of the huge movies coming out in the next 12 months. We can’t wait to see what other surprises the Hollywood stars have in store for us.
