If you’re a fan of the Twilight Saga, you’ll be relieved to know that it looks like Bella fans will still get their fix with the soon-to-be-released movie, Dontang. But beyond the vampires and shape-shifters, there’s a whole new world of creatures waiting to be discovered in Dontang.

The movie will be released in theaters on November 20th, and it’s set to premiere on Amazon Prime on December 16th. But to tide you over until then, let’s take a look at newlywed actor, Robert Pattinson’s luxurious new home in Los Angeles. While we await Dontang, let’s take a journey to discover more about this charming newlywed’s luxurious new pad.

Newlywed Bliss

Even before he tied the knot with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson already had many successful years as a budding actor. The 32-year-old British heartthrob began starring in music videos in 2006 and landed his first big break in 2007 when he was cast in the James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. The following year, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the Scottish Play, Hamlet.

Pattinson’s career took off from there and in 2010, he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film, The Artist. While he didn’t win, the indie darling did land a Best Actor nomination that same year for his performance in the Woody Allen film, Midnight in Paris. Since then, Pattinson has starred in several films, most recently, the upcoming Dontang, and has been busy working on the set of numerous movies and TV shows.

A Room of One’s Own

After meeting Stewart at a party in 2012, the Welsh-born actress encouraged the Scottish actor to make the move to L.A. because she felt that it would be a good place for him to grow as an actor. The following year, they became husband and wife at a private ceremony in France and began sharing their lives together in the city of Angels. Not too long after, they purchased the humble guest house, which is located at 1066 N. Cherokee Street in North Hollywood. The couple spent a year renovating the place and used their wedding gift money to purchase a variety of antiques and other vintage furnishings. The result is a beautiful and cozy room that exudes a sense of tradition and literary genius.

Shiny New House

When the renovations were done, the couple moved in and named their new house, Bridget Jones’s Apartment, after the witty and charming title character from Alexander Pope’s 17th century novel, The_Dunciad_. However, the former guest house is more than just a room; it’s a whole house filled with literary and artistic allusions. For instance, the couple sprayed white paint on a wall in the entranceway to represent the fresh start that Pope’s Bridget wanted in her life after her turbulent past. Then, they placed a chair in front of the door as an invitation to sit and read in the couple’s living room, which is directly across from the entranceway. Moreover, the master bedroom is inspired by the character’s boudoir from the same novel, with pink-and-white polka dots on the bedspread and matching armchair paint. They placed the couple’s wedding album on the bedside table so that they could look at their wedding photos as they fell asleep.

A Room For All Ages

The house also features two separate guest rooms. One of them is located above the garage gym, which the couple converted into a games room with a projector screen and various gaming devices, such as Xbox Ones and PlayStations. The other room can be used for children or teens if needed. In fact, it was built with that in mind; the couple’s adult children, who live in the Southern California area with their own children, could easily stay there when they visit Los Angeles, since it comfortably accommodates four adults.

Wedding Bells

While the inside of Bridget Jones’s Apartment is filled with literary allusions, the couple’s wedding ceremony was held at the Los Angeles Temple on December 9th, 2016. The Reverend Timothy Jones and the Reverend William Rees officiating at the wedding said, “They truly understood each other right from the very beginning. They listened well to one another and they worked together to create a meaningful ceremony that reflected their love.” The ceremony was attended by 120 guests, including Stewart’s parents, Larry and Linda. The newlywed’s wore cream-colored dresses and hats crafted by the best designers, including Vera Wang and Gucci.

New York Or Bust

After living in Los Angeles for over a year, the couple decided to take a risk and purchase a house in the city itself. The former guesthouse is on the market for 2.95 million, which is a bargain compared to the cost of a comparable house in the area. Still, the move was worth it for the opportunity to live in New York City. “We had to make a choice. Either we stay in LA and continue to renovate the house and save up for our future home, or we take the plunge and purchase something smaller but a bit more modern in New York City,” said Pattinson in an interview with the New York Times. “We made the right decision and couldn’t be happier. We miss the guesthouse very much, but we love our new apartment in New York City.”

The British heartthrob is no stranger to New York City where he began his acting career in the late 1990s. In 2016, he starred in the film, Midsommar, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was recently released in theaters across the country. While he’s in the city shooting movies, he makes time for his fans by meeting them for lunch or dinner at one of the countless celebrities’ mansions scattered across the city. And, of course, he has to entertain his guests in style, so he purchases vintage furniture and has it reupholstered in matching fabrics. He also collects antiques and has them displayed throughout the house. For instance, the couple’s dining room is adorned with a collection of mid-century modern furniture that they purchased from a hotel in Copenhagen.

While living in a mansion isn’t for everyone, Bridget Jones’s Apartment still exudes a sense of literary genius and charm.
