While the world was still reeling from the shock of Robert Pattinson breaking up with Kate Bosworth, the actor’s career was still in high gear. As the first anniversary of his split from Kate was approaching, Pattinson was in the midst of filming the highly anticipated new Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beast. The actor also filmed a cameo for the comedy Daddy’s Home, and wrapped up filming on the upcoming Divergent movie, due out this year. However, all these movies have one thing in common, they are set in the past. What’s the next installment in the actor’s upcoming filmography? Is it a return to the future, or are they taking a different direction? Let’s take a look at Pattinson’s history as a film actor.
Pattinson’s Early Years
The son of film producer Tony Pattinson and former fashion model Rosanna Pezzotti, Robert learned to act by watching his parents work in film and television. He made his acting debut at the age of three, appearing in his father’s movie, Romancing the Stone. His first major role came at age seven, in the mini-series adaptation of the Ricochet Rabbit comic book. That same year, he also had a speaking role in the family comedy Daddy’s Dyin’ Game. A few years later, he turned in another impressive performance as the young son of Marjorie Merriweather, a role that earned him a Young Artist Award. At age 11, he portrayed Jimmy Stewart’s son in the drama, On the Waterfront, and at age 14, he played the son of the title character in the comedy Parenthood. Perhaps Pattinson’s most memorable role to date was as Rupert Grindrod in the 2006 movie adaptation of the Young Adult novel, The Chocolate War. Pattinson played the awkward teenage son of a billionaire who tries to live a normal high school life and is in over his head in terms of social skills and understanding of real world issues. The film was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards and won two of them, including Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. It was also selected as one of the top ten favorite movies of all time in an Entertainment Weekly readers’ poll. It is safe to say that Robert Pattinson has established himself as a major film actor.

He opted to wear tailoring instead of jeans or pants to show his sophistication. The New York Times praised Pattinson for his attention to detail, saying, “His meticulous approach to dressing is visible in every aspect of his look. He wears his hair very neatly and with great care, and always in an exemplary manner.
