If you’re reading this, I assume you’re either a) a total fan of the Twilight series or b) you’ve at least heard of it. If you’re reading this, chances are you’re a) or b).

I love the Twilight series. I read them all the time when I need a good, sappy read. It’s an easy way to be entertained and I feel like I learn something from each book. Plus, watching the movies is such fun. For instance, I’ve learned that vampires aren’t really that scary if you know how to handle them. It’s all in the acting, I guess. Vampires aren’t dangerous when portrayed as menacing creatures with sharp teeth and a thirst for blood.

I was never a big fan of David Beckham. I mean, I liked him and all, but he wasn’t the type of guy who really stuck out to me. It wasn’t until I heard about the gorgeous British rocker, Robert Pattinson, that I started paying attention to him. And I’ll be honest, after reading about him in the papers and seeing his gorgeous mug shots, I don’t think I ever wanted to meet David Beckham in person. Especially since he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who’d want to meet up with me either.

Now let’s fast-forward a few years to today. Robert Pattinson is arguably one of the most popular and talented British actors of all time. He’s been in some really memorable movies and TV shows and has won multiple awards for his work. He’s also the front man of one of the most successful rock bands of all time, the band, The Beatles, and is still actively performing and making music with his bandmates. In 2020, he’s set to make his grand return to the big screen, playing the most important character in the entire history of the Twilight series! I’m excited and can’t wait to see what he’ll bring to the role.

And if that wasn’t enough, he’s also taken on a new challenge. In 2021, he’ll be releasing a book of poetry titled, Vanished, followed by a solo album in 2022. These will be his first major creative endeavours since the Twilight series wrapped a few years ago. Let’s get to the good stuff: the point-less-but-kinda-cool stuff.

Animated Series

It’s no secret that Robert Pattinson is a really talented and handsome man. But he’s not just your average Hollywood hottie. He’s often been referred to as the most beautiful man of all time, and it’s easy to see why. For starters, he has an incredible physical appearance. When I think of Hollywood’s most attractive men, I think of Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and, of course, David Beckham. But, if I had to choose just one, it would be Pattinson. Not even kidding. When you add his movie star good looks to his incredible talent and charisma, it’s no wonder so many people are obsessed with him. Especially since he seems to have no interest in playing it cool. Instead, he embraces his fame and embraces being amazing.

Never Been Touched

I think it’s no secret that I have a slight obsession with all things Twilight. So it should come as no big surprise that my first thought regarding Pattinson was, “Man, I’ve never been touched by a man that looked that good.” I know, right? I mean, it’s not like I’m a lesbian or something. It’s just that I’ve never felt this strongly about any man before. Besides, he’s already made it perfectly clear that he doesn’t see himself as just another pretty face. He’s definitely a special kind of guy.

No Regrets

I’ve had this conversation with a few of my girlfriends. We were talking about marriage and whether or not we regretted not taking the initiative and getting married earlier in life. We all agreed that we wouldn’t change our past decisions for the world. I think we were all a little shocked at how honest and open-minded Robert Pattinson was about the whole thing. He didn’t come across as the typical Hollywood bigwig who’d drop to one knee and propose to the nearest woman that interests him. Instead, he took the time to really consider what he wanted out of life and took the time to pursue it. He also seemed to really value his relationships and was really down on himself for taking advantage of the situation.

It’s one thing to say that you don’t regret something. It’s another thing to say that you actively pursued something that you now realize was a mistake. But, at the time, it seemed like the right decision.

Different Strokes

One of the things that attracted me to Pattinson in the first place was his distinct, but understated, British accent. Because, let’s face facts: I’m from England, and quite possibly the most arrogant and conceited man in the world, so it’s kind of hard for me to admit that I have a huge crush on one of my own kind. This also ties into my earlier point about not wanting to meet Beckham in person. I mean, I’ve never really gotten along with sports stars in general. I know, shocking, I’m from England and I don’t like sports. So this probably has a lot to do with it, especially since Beckham is one of the most arrogant and conceited men it’s ever been my misfortune to encounter. Like seriously, there’s entire chapters in The Devil Wears Prada about him.

Sober

Sober is a movie that I think a lot of people are either unfamiliar with or have forgotten about. In 1939, the movie was a huge hit and became one of the most popular movies of all time. It’s about a famous artist who is struggling with alcoholism. Of course, the artist in question is Van Gogh. But that’s not the only thing the movie is about. At one point, the artist has a hallucination in which he meets and has sex with a woman wearing a yellow dress. And that, my friends, is a burning question.

In the 1940s, there was a popular trend of artists and poets wearing yellow because it was the “in” colour at the time. So, when Van Gogh meets his future wife, he imagines that she is wearing a yellow dress, and things escalate from there. The burning question is, does Van Gogh’s drinking cause him to hallucinate about his wife? It’s an interesting point that many people have made over the years: that Van Gogh was not only inspired by the French Revolution in regards to the painting, The Sunflowers, but that his drinking may have had something to do with it. Maybe it was just his way of dealing with the pressures of fame and success. Or maybe he was trying to find meaning in his life and created this symbol of the French Revolution as an expression of that. We will probably never know for sure, but it’s an interesting theory.

Bad Romance

I think it’s fair to say that, over the past few years, Robert Pattinson has become something of a heartbreaker. The guy has been single for the majority of that time, but in the last few years, he’s broken a few hearts and caused a few fits of jealousy. Some fans have been so obsessed with the idea of him stepping out with another woman that they’ve harassed his team and even met up with the actors involved in order to get their point across. Unfortunately, this might be a case of obsessed fans trying to make a point beyond just wanting to see their favorite actor with another woman. Sometimes it’s best just to let things be.

Into The Cold

One of the things that has puzzled me since the beginning of this whole debacle is the reaction that people have had to Robert Pattinson. Some have suggested that he should take advantage of his newfound celebrity and marry the first woman he meets. It seems like a lot of people still think that this is a good idea and have asked their friends and family to help them find the love of their life. Which is kind of funny, because a lot of them already have. And it’s not just celebrities either. I mean, I can’t personally vouch for any of these people, but it seems like a lot of people think that getting engaged to a woman who isn’t the mother of your children would be the perfect solution to your problems.
