Robert Pattinson’s night out was as eventful as his day was filled with filming.
The British actor and his lady love celebrated their anniversary in style on Tuesday night as they left an after-party for the Venice Film Festival after-party. The A-list couple were seen arriving at a palatial Hotel La Santa Croce in a black limousine before being whisked away to their destination.
Pattinson, who is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, wore a black suit with white dots as he walked the red carpet at the 67th Annual Venice International Film Festival. His bespoke suit was created by a famed tailor of Savile Row, London, complete with a waistcoat and matching pocket square. He completed the look with a black leather clutch crafted by the British brand Burberry.
It was Pattinson’s first appearance at the film festival following months of shooting on the big-budget fantasy Gone Too Soon, in which he plays an ex-convict who can see ghosts. He also spent two months filming the latest instalment of the Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, in Italy.
The actor arrived at the La Santa Croce with his partner, film producer Sandy Galli for their anniversary party. Galli was wearing a red dress with black accessories, while Pattinson was a picture of elegance in his bespoke suit.
The pair were accompanied by their respective companions, including a mystery woman who is believed to be Pattinson’s Italian fiancee, Chiara Ferragni. The actor’s other special guests included his two children, Apple and Moses, from his first marriage to FKA (Formerly Known As) Kristen Stewart. The couple were married in France in June 2010 and became parents to twins Augie and Louis in August 2015.
A Little Family Holiday
The children, who were dressed impeccably in pale blue shirts and white collars, were spotted in the crowd at the premiere of Gone Too Soon. The schoolchildren were invited to a special screening of the film with the couple, as well as a Q&A session with the cast after the credits rolled.
Gone Too Soon is set in the fictional English town of Marlborough, where the family trip to Italy that the characters embark on early in the film is modelled on a real-life excursion that Pattinson and Galli took with the children last summer. It was the first major promotional activity for the pair after the wedding, and it served as a celebration of their union.
The trip to Italy was organised by the luxury goods brand Burberry, which is sponsoring and producing the couple’s upcoming holiday destination, The Discovery, a £26m villa near Portobello. The five-star hotel and wellness retreat will open this autumn and will feature sumptuous Italian meals, signature cocktails, and nightly turndown services.
Venice Grand Canal Ride
Pattinson and Galli arrived at the Grand Canal in a boat marked with the golden lion of Venice, with a police escort following behind. The actor was photographed arriving in grand style, leaning back in his seat as the boat moved along the waterway.
Gone Too Soon premiered in Venice on Saturday, and the couple celebrated by soaking in the sights and sounds of the city on Sunday night. On Monday, the star and his producer arrived at the Lido, where they were greeted by fans and photographers as they left their hotel.
Pattinson and Galli spent the rest of the week exploring Venice, visiting the iconic St. Mark’s cathedral and shopping along the Grand Canal.
Robert Pattinson Saves The Day
Not one but two of Pattinson’s films, Richard Curtis’s Love Actually and Gus Van Sant’s Finding Venus, will be competing for the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Both are set in London, and Van Sant’s drama centres on an adulterous affair between an affluent woman (Sally Hawkins) and a middle-class guy (Pattinson).
Pattinson will be seen on the red carpet at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival wearing a tailored white suit with a classic blue shirt and burgundy tie (from Curtis’s film), as well as black pearl-shaped earrings by Van Sant’s favourite designer, Christian Dior. He also wore a Dior handbag and turquoise and diamond jewellery by the designer on Sunday night at the Venice International Film Festival.
A Luxurious Hair And Makeup Artist
Pattinson’s beauty director, Joanne Cole, won an Emmy for her work on the star’s show, Burberry PR Chief Alexandra Marsh was wearing a grey dress with a collar of marigolds on it and a double breasted plaid with a collar of mulberries. Cole’s wardrobe revolved around marigolds, the bold flowers that adorn the Houses of Parliament’s exterior. Marigolds also feature prominently in Richard Curtis’s latest film, Brightest Star, which will hit cinemas in April 2019.
The makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin was responsible for transforming Pattinson for his part in the romantic comedy Love Actually. He won an Emmy for his work on the film, and it was nominated for an Oscar. Aucoin has collaborated with Van Sant before, transforming the actor for his 1986 film, My Own Private Idaho. He also worked on Barry Norman’s 2001 film, Thicker than Water, and on Van Sant’s 2006 drama, Matchstick Men.
These are just some of the events that made Tuesday night a memorable one for the English actor.
