The Lost City of Z

In 2017, the World War II drama film The Lost City of Z was loosely based on the true story of Louis L’Amour’s (played by Henry Cavill) quest to find his son, who went missing in the Amazon Jungle during the war. Louis and his wife, Mary (Zoë Kravitz), team up with two other couples to make the journey to find their lost loved ones. Along the way, they encounter hostile tribes, brutal climate, and dangerous animals. The film was directed by David Yates and co-stars John Cena, Cam Clarke, Bokeem Woodbine, and Richard Schiff. It’s a fitting end to an incredible literary and cinematic journey.

Since we’re guessing that a few of you are probably wondering, yes, it’s true that he does look quite a bit like Robert Pattinson. In fact, if you look at the pictures below, you’ll see that they’re practically identical. This was no accident. The director of the Harry Potter movies, David Yates, studied under the legendary Stanley Kubrick and took inspiration from him. In his book, The Art of Directing, he explains,

“I wanted to create a world that was dark and magical, but not scary… a place where adults could go and enjoy themselves, especially after the events of Deathly Hallows – Part 1. So, I drew on my love of Kubrick and his 2001: A Space Odyssey to give the film a sense of urgency that comes from deep space.”

With all these incredible performances by the leading man, it’s no wonder why people are so obsessed with him. Unfortunately, this obsession sometimes leads to stalking and harassment. If you’re a fan of Robert Pattinson, be careful! Although he’s an incredible actor, he’s still a real person and doesn’t deserve your creepy obsession. Keep your cool and let your admiration show through. It’s a win-win situation.
