Robert Pattinson may have found his true love, and it’s not music. Following years of dating actresses and being Mr. Reynolds’ constant companion, the ‘Twilight’ actor has reportedly become engaged to his longtime girlfriend, FKA Twigs. After dating for more than a year and a half, the couple decided to give their relationship a go at the romantic level with a vow of commitment and love. But the British born actor is not keeping his celebrity a private matter, and he’s inviting fans to jump into the action and join in the celebration.

The Wedding Plans

While the engagement between the two is a happy one, it hasn’t come without complications. As fans of ‘The Twilight Saga’ well know, Robert Pattinson is not one to shirk responsibilities, and he’s eager to take on the role of a husband. He recently told GQ that he plans on popping the question during a romantic vacation with his new bride-to-be in the coming months. However, to get ready for the big day, the couple must first plan the wedding. They have yet to settle on a date, but Robert Pattinson has said that they want to make it a “really special day”.

The Song To Order

While fans will have to wait and see whether or not they’ll actually be able to participate in the wedding festivities, they can take solace in the fact that the actor has finally found the woman of his dreams. As previously reported by E! News, Robert Pattinson was introduced to FKA Twigs by mutual friend and ‘Star Wars’ composer John Williams, who wrote the music for the 2017 movie ‘The Last Jedi’. After going on a blind date with the R&B singer, the pair hit it off right away and began dating soon after. While the couple have kept their romantic relationship a secret for the most part, they’ve recently decided to go public with their love. On Tuesday (December 4), the ‘Twilight’ actor teased his Twitter followers with a photo of the couple kissing. He then announced that he had written a love song for his girlfriend called “Let Me Sign,” which can be streamed below:

“Wrote this song for you. It’s about giving love a chance and not being afraid to show the world your feelings. It’s a beautiful thing #lovewins,” he wrote.

What Is The Lyrics?

While some of the lyrics to “Let Me Sign” are a bit cheesy—like when Robert Pattinson sings, “I want to show you all my love / Baby, I’m letting you know / That I really love you very much”—the song is really a love letter to his girlfriend. The lyrics to the song detail an everyday routine the couple established during their time apart. It starts with them saying they miss each other and desire to be together, as the song’s hook promises:

“Let’s meet in the middle / Where the sun beats hot / And the streets are filled with life, / So we can hold each other / And make each other feel at home. / Baby, I miss you / And I want to show you all my love.”

Robert Pattinson And His Influences

On Monday evening (December 3), Robert Pattinson’s Twitter account shared an image of the actor with a caption that read, “Happy Holidays from @robertpattinson! Influences include, but are not limited to: Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and John Coltrane.” The ‘Twilight’ actor has long been a fan of Michael Jackson, and it was apparently the influence of the late King of Pop that helped Pattinson overcome his shyness. As for Prince, who died in April 2016, there’s an entire album worth of songs written about him that can be streamed below:

“He had this way of making you feel like a prince, even if you weren’t,” said Pattinson of Prince during an interview with Rolling Stone. “There are a lot of influences on this album, but I think what distinguishes it is that it’s very personal, very intimate.”

Stevie Wonder And John Coltrane

While it would be easy to point a finger at Prince and blame him for Robert Pattinson’s newfound confidence, it’s actually the late Stevie Wonder—one of the greatest musicians of all time—who has had the most influence on the ‘Twilight’ actor. Not only does Wonder compose the music for the album, but he also provides the lyrics, which can be heard on the title track. As for jazz legend John Coltrane, he had an incredible amount of impact as well, inspiring a whole genre of music. One of Coltrane’s most well-known pieces is the song “Africa,” which means a lot to Pattinson.

“I feel like ‘Africa’ is this incredible anthem,” said Pattinson during an interview with Vanity Fair. “I feel like it’s something that every single person can relate to. Even when I first heard it, it was just like, ‘This is what I think about.’ It’s just such an incredible piece of music.”

Although he’s been relatively quiet on social media since his tweet about the wedding, Robert Pattinson has not lost sight of his fans. On December 5, he tweeted:

“Still haven’t forgotten about you all. Never will. This world is a small place. It feels like just yesterday I was driving down the street and didn’t know that this was going to be my last tweet. Thanks for everything. Still love all of you.”

The following day (December 6), he tweeted:

“Just wanted to let you guys know that I’ve been thinking of you guys a lot. Missed y’all while I was away and miss working with y’all. I’ll be back soon.”

The fact that Robert Pattinson is still mindful of his fans and still loves what he does speaks volumes. The singer is a testament to the power of music and how even the most reserved individuals can be inspired by it. Despite his newfound confidence, the shy British actor is still a musician at heart, and it appears that he’s found his true calling. Now, all he has to do is convince his girlfriend to say “I do.”
