It was first revealed that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were an item in 2016 when paparazzi photos surfaced of them holding hands on a Venice Beach sunset walk. The following year, they were photographed together outside a Hollywood hotel as they prepared to leave for a New Year’s Eve party. There was no indication at the time that their relationship was more than friendly.

But it was clear from the get-go that Stewart and Pattinson had a connection. After the Twilight actor’s split from fellow New Yorker and fellow acting pro Charlie Sheen, she turned to social media to express her feelings for Pattinson. While most of her posts during her stint on social media revolved around fashion and style, there were a few clues that she was harboring deep emotions. One such post was an image of herself wearing a t-shirt with the words ‘I Love NY’ on it. In the accompanying caption, Stewart wrote: “I love New York. It’s one of the greatest cities in the world!” This was followed up with the hashtags #RWS, #IloveNY and #RobertPattinson.

From Fashion Victims To Prom Night Kings

Their first official outing as a couple came as friends and fashion victims. Stewart was spotted wearing a stunning black dress outside a Los Angeles hotel in February 2017. The following month, she graced the cover of Vogue Italy in a photoshoot where she wore an array of luxury garments.

But it was after her appearance in the 2018 film adaptation of the Annie Murphy Get Your Gun that her relationship with Pattinson began to blossom. The following month, they were photographed together at the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards. And it was at this gala that Stewart finally gave in to the romantic advances of her man. As she later explained on Instagram: “I’m really happy that this year I got to share some pretty amazing moments with @robertpattinson. I don’t know if I’d ever be able to describe the feeling I had when he put his hands on me and held me close… I can see why he wants to keep holding me. I hope we can continue to enjoy moments like these for a long time.”

The following month, HollywoodLife posted an image of the couple kissing. “They’ve been hiding their romance for so long,” the site’s reporter wrote at the time. “But it seems like Robert Pattinson has finally proposed to Kristen Stewart. The couple has been hiding their engagement for so long, but they’ve finally made it public.” And so it was – less than a week later, Kristen officially announced her engagement to Robert Pattinson via a series of tweets. She wrote: “I’ve been dreaming of this day for as long as I can remember. Thank you for making my dreams come true. I love you more than words can say.”

And so it was – Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were married in a romantic ceremony at a private estate in Scotland in July 2018. The ceremony was attended by family and close friends, as well as some celebrities who were in Scotland at the time.

The couple made their first public appearance as a married duo a day after the ceremony. Stewart sported a stunning white dress and veil as she and her husband waved to photographers outside the wedding venue.

The following month, Stewart made history as she became the first-ever solo female across the entire Marvel universe (cinematic and print) when she was named the official face of the company’s Marvel Candy variety line.

A Princess, A Queen, And An Iconic Pairing

While Stewart’s star was on the rise, so was her fashion legend. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in January 2017, the host showed off some unique fashion items that he had obtained from the couple. One of these was a black dress that Stewart had been spotted wearing on multiple occasions before the TV appearance. During the show, Kimmel asked Stewart if the dress was her favorite piece of clothing. She replied: “It’s actually one of my favorite dresses. We got it at a vintage store in Paris. It’s actually one of the most stunning things I’ve ever worn. I just feel like it makes me feel like a princess. It’s so beautiful!”

This was one of many memorable moments for fashion fans as the fashion victims turned into the “it” couple. With the release of the Netflix series Dalton (which chronicled Stewart’s rise as a fashion executive and her marriage to Pattinson) came more opportunities for the now-famous couple. In one of the episodes, Stewart decided to throw a fashion parade in Dalton’s honor. As she put it: “I wanted to do something really special for @daltonofficial on his birthday. So I thought, why not have a fashion parade? I’ve always wanted to try something like this, so I brought in some streetwear designers to do something special.”

Dalton was released in April 2019, which also happened to be Robert Pattinson’s 34th birthday. To celebrate, Stewart hosted a gala ball for her man. And while many of the attendees were there to celebrate Pattinson, Stewart was there to celebrate her man as well. As she wrote on Instagram: “Happy 34th, @robertpattinson. It’s truly been an incredible journey. Thank you for being such an amazing husband and for always believing in me. I love you.”

The couple’s fashion style complemented each other perfectly. Stewart’s penchant for high-end designers like Gucci and Dior melded with Pattinson’s reliance on more casual labels like Vestia Windbreaker and OG (Original Gangstas) and the mash up of the two, which earned them the nickname “The Kardashian Twins.”

The fashion influence on their relationship was clear, as Stewart recounted in an interview with Elle magazine in 2019: “He always liked to dress me. Well, I think he liked it when other people were looking at us… He liked when people were talking about us. And he always kept me in black and white for the photo shoots. So, in a way, that’s when I really started to embrace my identity as a woman and a fashion victim.”

No Regrets, Just Fun

There’s no question that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson had a blast during their honeymoon in Italy. The newlyweds traveled to Florence, Venice and Rome during their time off, and were spotted having a picnic on the Ponte Sara Bridge in Venice, which separates Italy from Venice Bay. They also attended the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, and spent a few days in London during a break.

And though their dating started out slightly formal, the couple made it clear that they had no regrets about being so carefree during their relationship. On Instagram, Stewart shared a self-styled “selfie” that displayed the word “NO REGRETS” written in a heart shape. “So many people keep asking me about my engagement ring,” she wrote in the caption. “I do not regret getting married. I am so happy that I did what I did. I don’t believe in wedding regrets. You don’t have to — you can be sure that whatever you do will be unique and unforgettable. I have no regrets.”
