While we were certain that Robert Pattinson would be seen with another female lead following the success of Breaking Dawn, the fact that it was a pic taken just a few weeks after the Twilight alum’s split from long-time girlfriend Kristen Stewart was a bit of a shocker.
But now that the dust has settled, the actor is back on the market and has chosen to start fresh rather than rebuild his ship with a previously established relationship. And what a perfect match he found in his 23-year-old Slovenian co-star Anja Bevacqua!
The blond beauty recently hitched herself to the much younger Pattinson with a promise to love and support him forever. And what a perfect way to start a married life with the man of your dreams!
Together In Paradise
The newlywed couple splashed out on a romantic vacation to Turks and Caicos Islands in the Bahamas after their lavish wedding ceremony in September, enjoying some privacy and bonding away from the public eye. They were joined there by Stewart, who has been very supportive of Bevacqua throughout their relationship.
Stewart was also there to lend her wedding dress to the newlyweds, and the actress has spoken of how the experience changed her perspective on love. “I wore the dress last year and it was the most incredible feeling to see all of my girlfriends and family coming together in one place and one time,” she said. “Now that I’m married I realise the magic of this time and how much I want to be a part of it every day.”
Private Life
The newlyweds have also spent a lot of time at home, with Bevacqua giving birth to a baby girl in December. The actress has been very open about her pregnancy, and how it’s changed her life forever. “Everyday is a new adventure and I feel like I’ve found my place in the world,” she said. “I never thought I would be a mother but I feel like my entire life has changed.”
Bevacqua also gave birth to a son, Lincoln, in September 2014.
The Future
Pattinson and Stewart attended the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards together in January 2015, holding hands in a display of romance as the world’s most prestigious film event was held in Beverly Hills, California. They also made appearances at the 69th Annual Grammy Awards in February, looking impossibly chic as they arrived together and left separately.
But this isn’t the first time the couple have been seen together; in July 2014, they were snapped getting cozy while on holiday in the Hamptons. At the time, Stewart was already 16 weeks pregnant with Bevacqua’s baby, and her publicist confirmed that the pair were indeed an item. A source close to the couple also told Hollywood Life that the pair had been seeing each other for about a year and a half prior to their wedding day.
A Long Time Coming
While we knew that these two were bound to end up together given their undeniable chemistry, it still came as a bit of a surprise when they finally decided to wed. The longtime friends had been together since 2006 and maintained a very low-profile public existence until their romance was made public in 2013. It was rumoured that Pattinson had been seeing Bevacqua for several years prior to their wedding day, so it was only a matter of time before they made their relationship public. Unfortunately, the news didn’t do much for Stewart’s alreadybattered image, with her publicists slamming the engagement as a “desperate measure.”
But despite the negativity, there were still many, many positives to come out of this news. Not only does it mean that the Twilight movie franchise is now officially over, but it also gives Bevacqua the starring role she’s long wanted in a Hollywood movie. And as for Stewart, well, she gets to spend more time with her family and friends, and less time worrying about her career. Which is, we think, what she really wants.
