The Good: Robert And Kristen’s Deep Connection
Even if you don’t buy into the rumor that Robert and Kristen are secretly in love, you have to admit that they have a very deep connection. After all, they’ve known each other since they were kids and went onto become famous as adults. More importantly, they’ve been photographed holding hands and cuddling up in bed, which is usually an indication of a deep connection. Sure, their on-screen chemistry is undeniable – they’ve been paired in several blockbusters, including Twilight, and their characters’ romance was one of the central themes in the films – but off-screen they seem to share a much deeper connection.
In the grand scheme of things, it’s kind of funny how these rumors about Robert and Kristen’s alleged gay affair started. Back in 2013, during one of the film’s promotional tours for The Twilight Saga: The Breaking Dawn – Part 2, fans spotted Stewart at the movies with her husband Snow White and the Huntsman director Bill Condon. The sight of these three celebrity power couples, all holding hands, sent shockwaves through the Twittersphere. In an interview, Rob admitted that as a kid, he used to daydream about being famous and dating someone as stunning as Kristen.

Of course, this didn’t stop the gossip magazines and blogs from going crazy over the pair’s secret romance, speculating about what it means for their Hollywood careers and whether or not they’re still good friends. Even their own families got involved in the speculation, with Rob’s dad Tim saying that he wouldn’t be surprised if his son ended up being gay, and Kristen’s mom Jessie saying in an interview that her daughter had always been a lesbian and that she supported her decision to pursue a career in acting.
Unfortunately for any of their fans who may still believe in their secret relationship, it seems that Rob and Kristen aren’t really together. On Rob’s Instagram account, which he has now set to private, he sometimes posts throwback photos of himself with his ex-girlfriend Mila Kunis, who he dated for three years and had a son with. They also share an emotionally intimate bond on-screen, appearing alongside each other in several coming-of-age films, including the soon-to-be-released The Personal History of David Copperfield. In an interview with The Evening Standard, Rob said that he and Kristen were just friends who had become confidants, which is what they’ve played on-screen in the past and what seems to be keeping the hope of a real romance alive among their fans.
The Unknown: Who’s Driving This Rumor?
So who is driving this rumor about Robert and Kristen’s alleged gay affair? According to TMZ, Hollywood publicist Cindy Adams was the one to break the news of the possible romance to the entertainment world. She reportedly reached out to a number of sources in the industry, asking if they’d heard anything about the couple’s “hot” relationship. From there, the rumor took off, prompting tabloid after tabloid to publish the story and fueling a Twitter frenzy. At this point, the only person who knows for sure if there’s anything to this rumor is Kristen Stewart, and she isn’t talking. We don’t know if she’s with Rob or another man, if she’s been sexually active or if she’s even attracted to women.
We also don’t know if this secret relationship between two of the most famous people in Hollywood is just a publicity stunt or if it’s something more. What we do know is that this story would be crazy enough whether or not it’s true. We’ll just have to wait until one of them finally gives it up and tells all…
