It All Began With A Text
It all started when Robert Pattinson received a rather blunt phone text from his ex-girlfriend, model and entrepreneur Gigi Hadid. The 23-year-old beauty and her friend Alisha Green, whom she was traveling with, messaged the actor/writer to let him know that there was someone waiting for him at the Los Angeles International Airport. The former couple had split up in April 2016 after four years of marriage despite the fact that they had never officially called it quits. During that time, they went through a rough patch that saw them spending a total of 88 days apart. Despite the distance that separated them, Robert and Gigi always managed to find a way to keep in touch — they even spoke occasionally on the phone — and their breakup was not completely unexpected. In fact, neither had any real desire to be a couple again. After spending so much time apart, they both craved their own space and were determined to not let their relationship get stale. But as the clock ticked closer to the summer of 2019, Robert decided to book a vacation with Gigi and Alisha in Italy. The three of them spent two weeks exploring Venice, Siena, and Pisa, and while on vacation, Robert confessed to Gigi that he still had feelings for her. The brunette beauty had little choice but to say yes, as she still loved him too. The fact that he still cared enough to go on a vacation with Alisha and Gigi proved that their love was not dead. Still, it took some time for Gigi to arrive at this conclusion. In June, she announced via Instagram that she would be dating a man named Noah Centineo, whom she had met on a trip to Amsterdam. Little did she know that he would become her trainer and manager, and the couple would start a nonprofit organization together in memory of Gigi’s late brother, Gianni. Noah eventually proposed to Gigi after only a few weeks of dating, and on Aug. 2, 2019, she accepted. The news came as a shock to Robert, who had to deal with the fact that he would never be given a second chance at love. He later released a statement through a representative that he was “deeply saddened” by Gigi’s decision and wished her and Noah “every happiness.” Since then, Robert has chosen to be quiet as he mourns the loss of his one true love. A Grand Summer Night
While Robert Pattinson and Katie Holmes have chosen to remain private since breaking up in April, their love story has not been forgotten. On June 19, 2019, Vanity Fair held a sold-out “Last Dance” spectacular at the Vanity Fair Hollywood Ballroom in Los Angeles. The evening was a celebration of the power of love and a bittersweet goodbye to the couple’s epic romance. And while Robert was not in attendance, many of his friends and family members were there to say goodbye and thank him for bringing such joy to their lives. The show began with a heart-stopping performance by singer Halsey, who lit up the dance floor with her hit “Without Me.” The song’s emotional lyrics spoke directly to audiences, and the 23-year-old pop star gave an incredible performance: she tore off her gown and danced with just her underwear and a sports bra. Country music star Kellie Pickler then took the stage, and while her performance was excellent, the audience members were more interested in the band’s music than they were in watching Kellie. Singer-songwriter Maroon 5 then came up next and completely stole the show. Their performance was a superb mixture of pop, hip-hop, and R&B, and the audience went crazy during their energetic set. The night ended with a stunning performance by Australian singer-songwriter Kylie Minogue, who kicked off her shoes and danced barefoot on stage. Minogue is one of the most-loved, yet underrated, performers of all time, and it was a great honor to see such an incredible artist perform in person. The show was an emotional expression of love and loss, as well as a celebration of the most beautiful women in the world.
New Beginnings
Despite the pain that comes with losing someone you love, some people are able to find the good in their situation. Take, for example, rapper T.I., who has spoken openly about his breakup with Cardi B. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the Grammy-winning artist said that he and his wife have moved on and are happy together again. He thanked Cardi for her “beautiful friendship,” adding, “You know, I think it’s important to say goodbye to someone you love. You don’t want to be holding on to any kind of resentment, especially when you’re talking about friends. You got to let them go. It’s healthy. She has been spotted at various events and fundraisers since the break up, and is currently in Thailand supporting an organization that provides support to prisoners. Meanwhile, Robert has been keeping a relatively low profile since breaking up with Katie, but has been taking steps to move forward with his life.
