Ever since breaking up with Kristen Stewart, the actor has had a lot of time on his hands (and a cold-brewed coffee machine). And what has he done with all that free time? The End of an Era
If you’ve been wondering where all of Rob’s recent Instagram posts have come from, it’s because he’s been on a trip to Italy with his new wife, Stella. The destination represents a changing of the guard as far as he’s concerned – after 13 years of working with the director Brett Ratner, he’s ready to take the next step in his career.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your amazing support over the years. I feel truly blessed to have worked with such incredible people,” he said in an Instagram post before their big day.
The Future Is In Movies
With both Brett and Ratner behind him, Pattinson is looking to make a splash in Hollywood. In fact, he’s already landed a starring role in the upcoming movie Only You, alongside Elle MacLeman and Alia Shawkat. The movie is due to be released in Spring 2018.
“I’m beyond excited to be working on such an incredible project with these three ladies,” he said in a statement. “Directors Brett and Alia are both such talented and passionate women and have created something very special.”
New York, New York
Before moving to Los Angeles, the actor spent a few months in New York City. And what was he doing up there? Well, he wasn’t just chilling; he was filming the upcoming movie Sex Education, which is based on the British series of the same name. It follows a group of teenage boys as they navigate the treacherous waters of dating and sexuality in the big city.
What’s more is the director of the film, Stephen Chbosky, was a teacher at St. Luke’s School, where the star was once a student. And what’s Chbosky’s take on Rob? He had this to say: “I have known and worked with Robert since he was a teenager and he has always been a really talented, respectful, and engaged young man. We’re lucky to have him in the class and we’re looking forward to sharing the screen with him.”
Award-winning Songs
If you’re a fan of the Golden Globes, you’ll be pleased to know that the actor was nominated for five awards. He was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Cosmopolis, Best Supporting Actor for his role in Night Moves, and Best Original Song for the soundtrack to The Rover. He also received a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in the Motion Picture for Night Moves. In total, he has five Golden Globe nominations.
A Beautiful Wedding
But perhaps the most exciting news is that on December 6th, 2017, Rob married Italian designer Stella McCartney. The couple held a wedding ceremony in Florence and had approximately 80 guests, including family and friends. The happy couple met while filming the movie Water for Elephants in 2010. They’ve been together ever since and share several children together. (Although Rob has a daughter from a previous relationship).
McCartney is the second wife of the famous musician Paul McCartney, who is also the father of the couple’s children. As for Rob’s dress, it was designed by the husband-and-wife team of Ralph and Tatiana Mercer.
