The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is now in theaters, and with it comes an exciting new interview with the talented Robert Pattinson!

The young and handsome actor opens up about his experience on the set of the highly anticipated sequel, as well as dishes on his character, Edward, and his co-stars. Plus, find out what it was like to work with Summit and collaborate with Wes Anderson on set.

It’s been nearly two years since we’ve gotten any interviews with Robert Pattinson, and he’s certainly made the most of the time since then! Last June, we were treated to our first glimpse of the actor since his starring role in the dark comedy A Most Wanted Man, and even then he didn’t offer up too much in the way of comments. However, with Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 now in theaters, we’re finally going to learn a lot more about this talented actor who has risen to fame since he played the role of Robert Pattinson in The Twilight Saga.

The Set Of Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Was A Total Culture Shock

Set to the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic future, the second installment of Stephenie Meyer’s epic fantasy novel series takes audiences on an emotional journey as a couple fights to maintain their love and bond even as civilizations collapse around them. This film also marks the acting debut of Pattinson, who plays the role of Edward Cullen – a handsome and enigmatic British aristocrat who protects and indulges his insatiable curiosity about humans and their social constructs by observing and interacting with them. In the midst of a mysterious global outbreak that turns both vampires and humans into flesh-eating monsters, Pattinson’s Edward must navigate the evolving social landscape of modern-day society to protect his family and the woman he loves — who happens to be more human than he is used to dealing with.

For a while, it was hard to find out much about the film’s production, as Summit Entertainment and director Bill Condon kept a tight lid on the production. But earlier this week, THR broke the news that the Wrap had obtained some tantalizing set photos from the set of Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2! With some clever photoshop trickery, fans of Meyer’s series have gotten their first glimpse of what’s in store for Edward and Bella in the sequel.

The photos show us a world where society has broken down – with towering skyscrapers giving way to empty streets — and where vampires and humans live side by side. Filming took place in Los Angeles and Toronto, with the majority of the action set in downtown LA, which has been overtaken by vampires. The photos also give us our first good look at Pattinson’s stylish new look as a vampire. As for the rest of the cast, the photos also show that they’re going to embrace the grotesque side of their characters. There’s also a good measure of Edward’s customary shyness in the shots, which is going to make him more accessible and relatable to audiences. Overall, it’s clear that Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part Two is going to continue the trend of finding the human in the monster and the monster in the human.

The photos certainly offer a different perspective from that of the typical PR-stuffed set shot. They also offer a peek into the minds of the incredible talents behind the scenes of such an acclaimed and popular series. The fact that Condon and Summit decided to give us a behind-the-scenes peek at the making of what many consider to be one of the greatest series of all time is sure to delight fans of Meyer’s series who were curious about the making of this extraordinary film. And for those not familiar with the source material, the photos will hopefully reignite their interest in reading the books!

Pattinson On Deck As Edward Cullen

For the first time in two years, we’re finally going to get a true sense of what it’s like to work with Pattinson, and in what type of film he would be best suited for. But even then, we’re not going to learn a whole lot about the actor. In fact, despite all the rumors, we still don’t know much about him as an actor. But now that the cat is out of the bag, it’s time to find out more about Pattinson and his acting career.

First off, let’s discuss his latest role. When asked about his feelings signing on to play Edward Cullen in Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Pattinson replied, “It’s amazing. I’m so excited to be a part of it. I read the script and really liked it, so I didn’t have to pretend to like it, which is always a good thing when you’re acting. It was good to be able to say no to things that I didn’t like.”

The Wrap also spoke with the 32-year-old actor about his new look, which he is not very proud of. “I feel like I’ve matured as an actor. I used to be much more guarded,” he said. “I kind of feel that my time as Robert Pattinson has made me more approachable. People can relate to me now more than ever before. I think that my time as Robert Pattinson has helped me in a sort of transitional way, to become a better actor, I guess.”

While the role of Edward offers up plenty of opportunities for growth and personal development, it’s also going to be one of the most demanding roles of his career. With production set to begin next week, it’s clear that Pattinson is up for the challenge. Here’s to hoping that he can imbue his character with some of the charisma that made Robert Pattinson so likeable in the first place!
