It seems like only yesterday that we were gushing about Kristen Stewart and her Prince Charming (or should that be Prince Caleb?) on the red carpet. But time flies when you’re having fun, and now we’re already approaching the end of 2013, which means it’s been almost a year since we’ve been celebrating Hollywood’s sweethearts.
It was only a matter of time before all the other exciting celebrity romances wore off and we were left with just the one. Poor Robert Pattinson. When we learned he was dating Kristen Stewart – arguably one of the most gorgeous women in the world – we all knew this was going to be it for him. He couldn’t escape the love triangle created by his incredible good looks and his charm.
And it would be easy to see why he fell for Stewart. She’s stunning, successful, and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. What’s not to like?
But the tabloids have a way of drumming up drama where there isn’t any, and it seems like Stewart has a new squeeze now. Reports suggest she’s been dating Taylor Ferris, a.k.a. T-Swizzle, since early December. It was originally reported that Stewart had broken up with Pattinson, but the bad blood between the three of them seems like it was never truly resolved. And, like so many before him, it looks like Robert is once again caught in the middle of a love triangle.
Is it any wonder that Robert Pattinson hasn’t been seen at a public event since October 2013? The last we heard from the former Twilight star was in September, when he released a statement saying that he and Stewart were no longer in a relationship. She’s been pretty much everywhere since, from attending the Alfie Christmas premiere to partying it up at the Met Gala.
Although he’s kept a low profile since the breakup, Robert Pattinson has continued to be in the public eye. Just this month, we saw him at the premiere for the new Woody Allen film Simon Simon alongside his actress pal Mia Goth. They both looked gorgeous, as usual, but it was clear that they were keeping their distance from each other – even though they were sitting next to each other on the red carpet. But on Monday night, as we’ve come to expect from these Hollywood paparazzi, a source revealed that Robert Pattinson had been ‘watching [Mia Goth]’s career from afar’ and ‘tried to make his move’ on her at the Allen film premiere. While some might consider this an indication that their relationship is more than just on-and-off again, for sure it’s caused plenty of speculation. And that’s what matters in Hollywood, right?
The source added that Robert ‘thought she would be the woman he would marry’ and that their relationship ‘has a lot of potential.’ We can’t help but wonder…will this third act in the Twilight saga bring us closer to that happy ever after we so desperately want it to be? Or will this romance prove to be yet another one of Hollywood’s epic letdowns?
The Man Behind The Velvet Curtain
With all the speculation about the Twilight alum’s dating life, it’s easy to forget about his acting career. Sure, he appeared in the Twilight franchise, but he’s been around long enough to have done a whole lot more. Over the years, Robert Pattinson has established himself as one of Hollywood’s most in-demand leading men, appearing in films such as The Twilight Saga and Woody Allen’s upcoming Simon Simon.
It’s fair to say that he hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to relationships, as his previous two serious relationships – with Eve (before the Twilight series) and then with Stewart (after the Twilight saga) both ended in tragedy. But that hasn’t stopped him from trying, as evidenced by his very public dating history. He’s had his heart broken several times over the years, but he always seems to bounce back stronger than before.
While Robert Pattinson’s acting career undoubtedly helps his earnings, it’s really all about the men behind the velvet curtains who make the big money. He’s had plenty of opportunity to prove to the world that he’s willing to settle down and have a family, and we can’t help but wonder if that’s what ultimately leads him to decide to end his bachelorhood. If so, it would be quite the romantic gesture.
What Does The Future Hold?
With all the ups and downs that come with being in the public eye, it’s no surprise that Robert Pattinson hasn’t stopped working. In fact, he’s still working hard to prove to the world that he’s a serious actor who deserves to be in the same breath as some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Even as we approach the one-year anniversary of his breakup with Kristen Stewart, he’s continued to work hard to show the world that he’s still capable of giving her the Hollywood romance she deserves. And he’s not wrong. She’s a wonderful actress, and it’s easy to see that they both still have that special spark. But it’s different this time around. It’s not just about winning back the heart of the girl he loves, but about showing the world that he’s a changed man and that he wants to prove to her and to himself that he can be faithful and committed to a woman for the rest of his life.
We can’t speak for Mia Goth or Taylor Ferris, but from what we’ve seen so far this year, it seems like Robert Pattinson is finally ready to find lasting love. Even if it means having to settle for being Mr. Pretty instead of Mr. Perfect.
