Just when you thought 2018 couldn’t get any more exciting for Robert Pattinson fans, right on the cusp of this year, the “Twilight” actor was spotted in the public for the first time in over a year!

Just as the sun was setting on New Year’s Day, fans spotted Pattinson as he walked through the streets of Los Angeles, California. The actor was wearing a black long-sleeve t-shirt, with ‘Twilight’ branded on the front. Other fans recognized him from the films, and rushed to greet him.

A few hours later, the actor was spotted again, this time wearing a grey sweatshirt with ‘Robot’ printed on the front. The sweatshirt was completed with a hood, and had the word ‘Lion’ stitched on the back in black.

Rumors and Speculation

While some fans were over the moon to see Rob again, others were more skeptical, believing the rumors that the actor had fallen off the grid. They had hoped he would make a full-fledged comeback, but had assumed that he most likely wasn’t ready to do so just yet. However, it seems that Rob is here to stay and is gearing up for a busy year. Not only has he been spotted recently, but he also has a number of upcoming projects to promote.

While there are no confirmed details regarding any of these projects, Vogue has reported that Rob could potentially star in a biopic about the influential fashion designer Christian Dior, and that he has been training for a role in the highly anticipated sequel to “The Lion King.” Further, Variety has reported that he will portray John Lennon, the famed singer and songwriter, in a film adaption of the musician’s last years. Both films are set to release in the next year.

New Projects

Aside from gearing up for a comeback, Rob has a number of upcoming projects to promote. Since arriving in LA in April, the 33-year-old has spent a great deal of his time training for the role of Peter Parker in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” While it was initially reported that he would only have a cameo in the film, it seems that he has actually signed on to play a much larger role in the superhero adaptation.

Not only does he play a key supporting role in the upcoming blockbuster, but he is also set to star in the highly anticipated sequel to “Twilight,” which hit theaters in November 2017. The actor will once again play lead role in the upcoming third installment of the “Twilight” franchise, “Twilight Dawn,” which is set to arrive in theaters on April 5, 2019. He will then star in the upcoming Netflix film “The High Life,” which centers around famed art dealer and bon vivant Hans Voight (Jeffrey Rush).

Why Christian Dior

One of the most exciting aspects of Rob’s reported involvement with the Christian Dior film is that it marks his third time working with director Tomas Alfredsson. The pair previously worked together on the 2013 vampire thriller “Let Me In,” and then again for the highly anticipated “Twilight” sequel, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” The upcoming film will mark the director’s debut as a lead actor, and his second collaboration with Alfredsson. The pair worked together on the 2010 film “Troll Hunter,” which Alfredsson also wrote and directed. While it is unclear if the role of Peter Parker will land Rob a part in upcoming productions from Marvel Studios, it seems that he is definitely lining up to star in a number of upcoming films.
