We all know that celebrities often do peculiar things, some of which are completely inexplicable. In fact, sometimes the very things they do for fame can backfire and become major stumbling blocks in their personal lives. Take the case of Robert Pattinson. When he was in his early 20s he was cast in a film called Twilight. The film was a huge success and he became a teen idol overnight. Since then life has not been the same. He has gone through major changes and is now in the process of reinventing himself as a more mature and established actor. Recently, he has been experimenting with fashion and often appears in trendy outfits. Sometimes he will put on a simple black shirt or a white one. He’s also been spotted with a striped shirt and a rugby shirt. While we don’t understand why he sometimes wears a shirt while sleeping, we think he’s trying to reinvent himself as a more mature and established actor and he’s doing a pretty good job of it.
1. When He Was Cast In The Hobbit
One of the movies that made him a celebrity was The Hobbit, the prequel to The Lord of the Rings. After appearing in the much-acclaimed film, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, in which he played the role of George Smiley, Robert Pattinson was cast in The Hobbit. The film was a massive success and made him a household name. However, while filming the fantasy epic he didn’t feel comfortable wearing a shirt, so he opted for a vest instead. Even when he wasn’t acting, he would often go shirtless because he felt more comfortable this way. During a break, he would often go for a run without his vest on and never came back without it. He even started wearing a vest to bed. When asked about this, he would say he liked the way it looked and felt that it made him look more mature. He also said there was a certain freedom in not having to hide behind a shirt.
2. When He Was Cast In Twlight
Twilight was the first in a series of films based on Stephenie Meyer’s wildly popular novel, Twilight. The film was a huge hit and made James Mason the most popular actor in the UK at the time. He played the part of charismatic and reclusive vampire Edward Cullen. The success of this film launched Robert Pattinson’s acting career and he started receiving major roles. He also started getting paid more than he’s ever gotten before. However, while filming the epic fantasy, he felt uncomfortable in his own skin and didn’t feel like himself. This is why he wore a shirt while filming. It made him feel more comfortable in his own skin and also gave him a reason to develop his arms more. In fact, he went for a run on a park bench and returned to find that his shirt had been removed and his arms were covered in sweat.
3. When He Was Cast In The Grand Tour
The Grand Tour is the sequel to The Hobbit and was released in 2018. While promoting the film, Robert Pattinson was asked about his fashion choices for the film and he revealed that he wore the same outfit for the entire duration of the filming. He said he didn’t want to try something new each day because he wanted to stay comfortable. He also said he had to take inspiration from his co-stars. While promoting the film, he wore an outfit similar to that of one of the film’s characters. It included a black shirt, grey trousers and an orange tie. He always wears this outfit, even when he’s not promoting the film. He has also been spotted wearing an all-white outfit with blue trim and a black shirt and tie. This is a combination which he has never gone without wearing. He feels confident and at ease wearing these outfits because he feels like himself. He has said that he wants to become more of an individual and not a clone of anyone else. He feels that these outfits express this desire to be different.
4. When He Was Cast In Dark Tour
Dark Tour is the third film in The Hobbit trilogy and was released in 2019. While promoting the movie, it was revealed that Robert Pattinson doesn’t always wear shirts while sleeping. Sometimes he will go without it and other times he will wear something on top of his pajama bottoms. When asked about this, he would simply reply, “I like to be cosy.” He has said that he doesn’t like to follow fashion trends and only wears what makes him comfortable and at ease. Since Dark Tour is the final film in the trilogy, it would seem that at some point, he will have to start wearing shirts more often. We would suggest that he starts now since he’s apparently feeling particularly comfortable in his own skin.
5. When He Was Cast In Rocketman
Rocketman is the biopic of Elton John and was released in 2019. While promoting the movie, Robert Pattinson revealed that he doesn’t always wear shirts while sleeping. Sometimes he will go for a run without a shirt on and come back with a wet shirt. When asked about this, he would simply reply, “I like to be comfortable.” He has said that he doesn’t like to follow fashion trends and only wears what makes him comfortable.
6. When He Was Cast In Venom
Venom is the next movie from Guardians of the Galaxy star, Chris Pratt and was released in 2019. While promoting the movie, it was revealed that Chris Pratt doesn’t always wear shirts while sleeping. Sometimes he will go for a run without one and come back with a damp shirt. When asked about this, he would simply reply, “I like to be comfortable.” While we don’t understand why he sometimes goes shirtless when running, we think it has to do with how the shirtless look makes him feel more free and relaxed. He said he doesn’t always feel like himself when he’s wearing a shirt and this is why he wants to take it off sometimes. When he does this, he feels that he can be anyone or anything. So, it would seem that Robert Pattinson will start wearing shirts more often now that he’s had some success in portraying more mature and independent men.
7. When He Was Cast In Black
Black is a 2006 mystery film directed by Jamie Thraves and written by Peter Cameron. It is based on the Willaim Steele novels and stars Ian Mckellan, Stephen Fry, Thandie Newton and Robert Pattinson. While promoting the film, it was revealed that Ian Mckellan doesn’t always wear shirts while sleeping. Sometimes he will go for a run without one and come back with his shirt wet. When he does this, he feels like a new person and doesn’t feel like he’s wearing his shirt from last night. Similarly, Thandie Newton doesn’t always wear shirts while sleeping either. Sometimes she will go for a run without one and come back with her shirt soaked. When she does this, she feels like a new woman and doesn’t feel like she’s wearing her old shirt from last night. Robert Pattinson also doesn’t always wear shirts while sleeping. Sometimes he will go for a run without one and come back with his shirt damp. When he does this, he feels like a new person and doesn’t feel like he’s wearing his shirt from last night. Sometimes he will even go for a run without his vest on and come back without it. Since Black is a thriller, it would seem that these clothes make the actors feel more of themselves and less like robots. They also make the actors seem more like characters and less like mere mortals.
8. When He Was Cast In Isle Of Dogs
Isle of Dogs is a 2014 comedy-fantasy directed by Wes Anderson and written by Anderson and Roman Coppola. It is based on the novel The Isle of Dogs by Elmore Leonard and tells the story of a retired cop who is reborn in a strange and exciting world where dogs are the dominant species and people are afraid of them. While promoting the movie, it was revealed that Owen Wilson doesn’t always wear shirts while sleeping. Sometimes he will go for a run without one and come back with his shirt damp. When he does this, he feels like a new person and doesn’t feel like he’s wearing his shirt from last night. Sometimes he will even go for a run without his vest on and come back without it. It seems that the role of an ex-cop in a strange world has unlocked something in Owen Wilson. He said he doesn’t always feel like himself when he’s wearing a shirt and this is why he wants to take it off sometimes. Just like the other actors mentioned here, sometimes he feels that he can be anyone or anything. So, it would seem that Wes Anderson has given Owen Wilson the courage to express himself more fully and be himself more often now that he’s played a character similar to himself in Moonrise Kingdom and The Royal Tennenbaums.
