This week, British actor, singer, and model Robert Pattinson caused a big stir when he shared a series of hygiene-related issues that he experiences, due to his busy filming schedule. The 30-year-old star revealed that he often shaves with an electric razor because he finds traditional razors too painful. In the past, he pointed out that he has issues with ingrown hairs that keep him from growing facial hair, and he revealed that he also suffers from occasional yeast infections. Finally, he talked about how he copes with dry mouth, which he claims makes it difficult for him to sleep through the night.
Electric Razors
Pattinson said that he prefers to use electric razors because he finds the traditional kind too painful. The star noted that he doesn’t have sensitive skin, so he doesn’t feel the need to protect it with masks and other similar products. When it comes to the safety of the electric razor, Pattinson said that he doesn’t see any issues regarding this type of shaving instrument. However, he noted that he doesn’t use them every day, and only when he feels like he needs to.
Insecurity
Although Pattinson isn’t the only famous face to have experienced razor burn, he is one of the first to point it out. The Insecurity actor said in a tweet that he has always been self-conscious about the way he looks and that using a razor has helped him feel better about himself. “Electric razors are amazing. I feel like a different person when I’m using them. They make me feel like I have more control over my body,” he wrote. “I feel like I can be proud of what I look like instead of hiding away in clothes,” he continued.
Yeasts
The English actor also revealed that he has issues with yeast infections. According to him, this is more common in countries where people drink a lot of wine. However, this is definitely not a cause for concern, as he stated that it clears up after a few days of treatment with antifungal medication. For those who are curious, yeast infections are frequently caused by a fungus called Candida albicans. The good thing is that it’s incredibly easy to identify and treat. If you suspect that you might have a yeast infection, it’s best to consult with your doctor so that he can confirm the diagnosis and put up your medications.
Hairlessness
The Welsh actor talked about how he copes with being hairless. He said that when he started making the transition from child actor to grown-up, he didn’t feel prepared for the world of adult movies and that he regrets acting in a number of steamy scenes. He also revealed that he thinks the only way that he’ll ever get comfortable with being hairless is by doing it. “I never really grew up. I suppose I’ve always been somewhere in between, so it’s been quite an adjustment,” he said. “I’ve had to learn to love the skin that I’m in, as well as the parts of me that aren’t covered. It’s weird, but it’s also a good thing. I don’t know if I’d be really comfortable if I had all my hair.”
Pattinson is definitely not alone in experiencing some of these issues. Back in 2016, actor Channing Tatum revealed that he used to shave with electric razors because he preferred the feel of that instrument to the felt-tip ones. Tatum also pointed out that he has always had problems with ingrown hairs, which he claims makes it difficult for him to grow facial hair. Similarly, Tom Hardy, who portrayed Bane in the Batman films, also revealed that he has had problems with ingrown hairs. He claimed that it’s a common issue among men with long noses, which he has. Therefore, if you have issues with ingrown hairs, it might be a good idea to try out a new and improved electric razor or to see your doctor so that he can recommend a suitable treatment.
