Most people know actor Robert Pattinson as the charming and sassy kid next to Benicio del Toro in the 2001 movie Catch Me If You Can. But over the last decade, he’s established himself as one of the most talented and popular young actors in Hollywood. We’re excited to feature the actor in our latest GQ editorial because not only does he bring with him a unique charm and charisma that’s hard to resist but also because he’s constantly evolving as a performer and a person. And this year, in particular, he’s taken on a new persona; that of a British gentleman. Inspired by iconic British fashion designer Ralph Lauren, we’re breaking down the details of what Mr. Pattinson wore in his September 28, 2017 photoshoot with GQ to bring you the best of the looks.
The Suits
When it comes to tailoring, Mr. Pattinson opted for a contemporary take on the classic look with slim-fit trousers and block-print shirts. The designer behind these outfits is Mr. Lauren, famous for his rich heritage and for encouraging men to express themselves through fashion. It’s a fitting choice for a man who has expressed his desire to be more fashionable and cosmopolitan. As an ambassador for the brand, Mr. Pattinson is also expected to promote the products of other designers who work with the house.
The Look
It’s been a while since we’ve seen an actor dominate the silver screen the way Robert Pattinson has in recent years. The actor is best known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga but he’s also turned in some remarkable performances in films like 2013’s The Rover. And it’s not only film: on television, he made a name for himself in 2016 with his portrayal of Alan Turing in the historical drama, Benedict Cumberbatch: The Life. With more than 15 million followers on Instagram, it’s clear that Mr. Pattinson has also established himself as a style influencer.
Whether you’re a fan of his acting or his looks, it’s undeniable that the 29-year-old has arrived. With a busy schedule that includes promoting his own clothing line and working with some of the most fashionable brands in the industry (Bulgari, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Ettinger, and more), it’s no wonder why he’s become such a popular figure in the sphere of style. Now, we just need to see if he can carry this off-screen persona into real life. A true fashionista who also happens to be a great actor? We’re confident he’ll succeed.
