It is hard to believe that the same actor who played the iconic role of Edward Cullen in the Twilight film franchise could also embody legendary figure of Frankenstein. But that is exactly what happened as Robert Pattinson was announced as the latest casting for the upcoming fifth installment, due for release on November 5, 2024.

The actor will play Frankenstein in the upcoming Warner Bros. film, The New Mutants. The story follows a group of characters who discover that they possess superhuman abilities after being infected with a virus. While the majority of the film will be set in New York City, it will also see Pattinson’s character traveling to other locations around the world. The New Mutants will be released on April 12, 2026.

The role of the infamous doctor, Victor Frankenstein, was first offered to Christopher Lee, who turned it down. After Lee’s turn-down, the role was recast with a younger actor. Finally, when it came time for Edward Kitsch to play the part, it was decided that he would not resemble anything from the book. Instead, the filmmakers decided to go with a more humorous and charming variant of the character.
