The couple has had quite the year, with them tying the knot in April and welcoming their first child, a son named Louis, in December. They also had the heartwarming experience of seeing their newborn son for the first time.

Bella and Robert have been busy since the beginning of the year, with the 33-year-old actress having to cancel several appearances due to labor complications with her son, as well as Robert having to postpone a tour due to the same reason. Still, they both managed to keep a somewhat public schedule due to their growing family.

However, as the New Year begins, Bella is taking the time to focus on herself and her family, and has pulled back from public appearances and social media. She recently made her first appearance on Instagram since the beginning of the year, posting a picture of herself and her family.

Meanwhile, Robert has continued to be a busy celebrity, jetting between the US and Europe for his work. He has also been making the most of his time off, spending quality one-on-one time with his newly adopted son, learning his habits and traits.

Bella’s Humble Beginnings

Bella was born on June 23, 1986 in London, England, to an Italian-Swiss father, Renato, and an Irish-English mother, Sarah. She has two older siblings, Francesca and Marco.

Growing up in a large family, the actress always felt a strong connection to nature and the natural world, which she explored in her artwork. She received an arts education from Trinity College, London, before relocating to New York City in 2011 to pursue an acting career.

Bella made her acting debut in 2013, appearing in TV series such as Game Of Thrones and The Handmaid’s Tale, before landing the role of Jodie in the indie film The Dark Knight Rises in early 2014. The film went on to become a critical and commercial success, with many critics noting that Bella’s acting was among the highlights of the universally praised movie — and not just because of her curves. As it was an independent production, The Dark Knight Rises was able to go bigger and better than most big-budget studio blockbusters, and the extra production values certainly benefited Bella’s acting — as shown in the trailer, where she delivers a convincing, action-packed monologue while falling from the top of a building.

After being spotted by a producer while vacationing in Tulum, Mexico, in early 2015, Bella was cast in the upcoming Rob Pattinson drama High Maintenance, playing the dual role of April and Lila. The film was a commercial success, earning over $21 million at the box office and being hailed as one of the best of the year.

The Beginning Of A Beautiful Bond

Following High Maintenance, Bella was picked to play the female lead in the highly anticipated Rob Pattinson-directed horror movie The Mountain Between Us. Set in the beautiful and rugged Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, the critically acclaimed film follows a couple, Kate (Jennifer Connolly) and Logan (Rob Pattinson), who must put their trust in each other as they attempt to survive the harsh elements and terrifying creatures that lurk in the nearby wilderness. The Mountain Between Us was a critical and commercial success, winning several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Art Direction, and becoming one of the highest-grossing indie films to date. The film also marked a turning point for both Connolly and Pattinson, with the actor subsequently winning the BAFTA Rising Actor Award and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Bella’s Continued Success

Bella’s already established acting credentials were further cemented with her role as Maude in the 2017 historical drama The King, in which she starred alongside Ron Howard and Olivia Colman. She played the part of Maude, Fredrick’s (Howard) wife and queen consort, with the actress describing her character as “a very strong, intelligent, [and] independent woman.”

Bella also starred in the 2018 psychological thriller Filmstar, which is based on the Jean M. Auel book The Sons of Earth. The film, directed by Stefan Rudnicki, premiered to mostly positive reviews, with critics noting that the actress gave a powerful performance as the “strong and commanding” lead character, Genevieve. Critically, Filmstar was a box office flop, earning only $1.5 million at the box office against a budget of over $5 million. However, it did do well enough to earn a spot on Netflix’s upcoming 2019 global theatrical release list. In the film, Bella plays a successful, yet complicated, actress who is forced to confront her demons as she searches for the truth behind her mother’s untimely death.

Bella recently starred as the lead in the drama film Spring, which premiered to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Written and directed by Sara Green, Spring is a coming-of-age story that follows four young women from different backgrounds who, despite their differences, discover a commonality of experience in the pursuit of happiness.

A New Beginning

Bella began 2019 on a high note, with her first major role in a theatrical feature film, playing the title character in the fantasy adventure comedy Glass, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last month. Set in a parallel universe, where humans and animals have learned to coexist, Glass centers on Sally (Toni Collette), a sheep who discovers she is the reincarnation of the legendary Cleopatra. Sally must now navigate the complicated politics of the court, including her ex-husband Mark (John Malkovich), who has suddenly rekindled his love for her. While Glass is not the typical romantic comedy, with some scary elements, the film still represents an intimate and emotional story about a relationship that begins to heal and the awakens the feelings of love that were once dormant.

Bella has also been keeping busy with various projects, including a major role in the upcoming third installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise, in which she will play one of two female leads alongside Kayla Maroney. The film will be released by Paramount Pictures next year. In the next few months, she will also be seen in the romantic comedy Blame It On the Alcohol and the drama film The Goldfinch, both of which are premiering at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.

Bella started off the year right, with an impressive cast and critical acclaim for her performance in Glass. While we wait for this year’s films to hit theaters and TV screens, let’s take a look back at Robert Pattinson & Fiancee Bella Hadid’s Sweet Relationship Is Official.
