One of the most anticipated films of the summer is Remember Me. Although the film doesn’t open in theaters until August 12th, it’s already causing a stir online.
The latest installment in the Twilight franchise focuses on Bella’s (played by Kristen Stewart) attempts to remember her past. The film’s director Nicolas Winding Refn revealed that the film’s ending was the result of a last-minute change. The director had originally intended for the film to end with a heartfelt speech by Bella, thanking her audience for supporting her as she tried to forget about her past. Sadly, the actress fell ill just as she was starting to shoot the finishing scenes.
The director decided to change the ending so that instead of a single moment, the audience got to bask in Kristen Stewart’s million-dollar smile for a better part of a minute.
The changes to the Twilight script cause a major shift in the Twilight storyline. Whereas the first two films centered on Bella’s search for herself, this latest entry in the Twilight franchise will be more about Bella’s past.
The backlash to the Twilight franchise has been swift and furious. Many fans expect Robert Pattinson‘s Edward Cullen to step up and save the day, but they’re probably a little bit nervous now that the director of the film revealed that the ending wasn’t what they were augmented to see.
Does Robert Pattinson still have it in him to save the day? The actor is still relatively unknown outside of the US. Although he’s become a sought-after actor for blockbuster movies and famous for his work in the Twilight franchise, his career isn’t necessarily backed by major franchises.
In fact, before the Twilight franchise, Robert Pattinson starred in the UK TV series Buried. In the five-episode series, Pattinson plays Charlie Prichard, a geologist who unexpectedly gives birth to a twin boy and girl during a storm.
It’s a stealthy inclusion for a TV series that came out years ago, but I just found out about it because it received a lot of attention when it was first released. For a show that aired all over the world, it is quite the feat that Buried was one of the few American programs to be shown in London in its entirety. Pattinson portrays a father who doesn’t want to be found out and punished for his actions, and wants to protect his family at all costs. The cast of Buried is worth mentioning as well. It features Kate Middleton, Rupert Wearn, Julian Aberdeen, and Anna May Kiss.
Even before the Twilight franchise, Pattinson showed that he could act, but also that he could be a little self-aware and comic relief.
He’s Still Got It
With all of this in mind, it’s no surprise that Robert Pattinson was one of the first celebrities to show up at the premiere for Remember Me. He didn’t need to save the day to make an impact – he was there to make sure we all remember him. He’s still got it.
Is This The End Of The Road For Robert Pattinson?
With a wide array of characters, it’s hard to say whether or not Robert Pattinson‘s career will survive the trendy fad of which he’s a part. One thing is for sure; we’ll always have Twilight. As for the other franchises – Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Iron Man – I don’t think they’ll ever be forgotten. It all depends on whether or not we continue to see Pattinson in high-profile movies and TV shows – – or whether we just see him as a flash in the pan actor who will soon be forgotten.
