Ever wondered what it’d be like to be dating a vampire? Well, wonder no more, because you have your answer. Last weekend, Robert Pattinson attended the premiere of his new movie, “Twilight” in Los Angeles, and he was wearing something that will knock your socks off. Not only does he look like a total bad-ass in shiny black, but he also looked like he was born to text and be tied to his phone. Never one to shy away from the limelight, the actor/model/sportsman chatted with journalists and took some time out of his day to sign autographs. But that wasn’t all he did; it seems like he’s been keeping his Twitter followers entertained all week, dropping a new tweet every few hours.
And it’s not just Twitter. According to TMZ, Pattinson has been shooting the breeze with fans online as well, using his verified Twitter account to respond to various inquiries.
So what’s going on here? Is this a joke? Is he really dating a vampire? Is he trying to be more famous? Or is he just bored? Let’s explore the possibilities.
The Robert Pattinson Saga
One of the biggest questions surrounding the “Twilight” star right now has to do with his personal life. Since first breaking up with his girlfriend of four years, FKA Twigs, back in December, 2017, Pattinson has been linked to a string of A-list celebs. From Demi Moore and Jennifer Lawrence to Selena Gomez and Emma Stone, the world has been wondering if these relationships will last. To add fuel to the fire, Pattinson has also been spotted socialising and hanging out with his “Twilight” co-star and closest friend, Naomi Watts. So it would appear that this publicity-shy actor is looking for a way to keep the sparks flying.
Well, it’s no secret that Pattinson is a bit of a hermit, which has probably worked in his favor as far as maintaining an aura of mystery. However, being on-camera for almost all of his life has apparently taken its toll, and it’s forced the actor to go above and beyond to get some privacy. According to the Sun, the 33-year-old has reportedly resorted to moving house a total of five times since he was 13, in order to keep his personal life out of the public eye. So it’s clear that he’s not taking any risks with celebrity; if any of these relationships go the distance, it would undoubtedly be one of the most talked-about romances of 2018.
Robert Pattinson’s Upcoming Movies
Pattinson will next be seen alongside Watts in the comedy-drama “The Photograph,” which focuses on a group of friends who try to have a good time in New York City despite their busy schedules. The director of the film, Sebastián Lelio, described it as “a lighthearted look at relationships,” likening the tone to that of a “younger version of ‘Friends.’”
Pattinson will also star in the romantic drama “Love, Simon,” which focuses on a young man named Simon (Logan Lerman) who is in love with a girl (Amandla Stenberg) and decides to pursue her despite the warnings of his friends. The film will be based on the best-selling novel by Gregg Hurwitz, who wrote that Simon ‘believes in monogamy and believes in marriage.’ Directed by Henry Heyman, the movie will also star Katie Leclercq as Simon’s best friend. Shooting is reportedly set to begin in early 2018.
Pattinson will next be seen in Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows,” a cinematic adaptation of the classic TV series in which he plays Barnabas Collins, a wealthy and reclusive man who is forced to live in the shadows after killing his family. The actor will then appear as a superhero in two movies, “The Batman” and “The Justice League.” In the former, he will play the caped crusader, while in the latter he will play a key role as the team’s resident scientist, Dr. Allen Wilkins. Finally, he will portray the Phantom in the fantasy “The Last Face,” which will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2018.
So, what do we make of this odd week of activity from Robert Pattinson? It seems like he’s having a bit of fun and is looking to keep fans interested. Although it’s unclear what exactly he’s trying to accomplish with this unusual blitz of press, we can assume that in order to remain relevant in this day and age, a celebrity must constantly be looking for new ways to engage with their audience. We’ll have to wait and see if any of these relationships pan out, but for now, it’s enough to keep our attention.
