Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart got married on Saturday night in an intimate ceremony in L.A. What was the most memorable moment from their big day? We’ve got the details from the star-studded affair!
Elaborate Cake
The famous British actor wore a custom-made grey suit with a tie made of orchids, while the Snow White and The Huntsman starwore a beautiful white wedding dress. Their cake was an intricate work of art, made up of yellow cupcakes with a black-and-white spiral pattern on the top and with roses, lilacs, and shamrocks in the shape of a harp on top of it – which they cut up and shared with their guests.
Romantic Speeches
Robert gave an emotional speech saying: “For the past seven years, you’ve been with me through thick and thin, up and down, and always in my corner. Even when things got bad, you were there, and that is the kind of partner I always wanted. You made me a better man, and I love you for that.” And Kristen chimed in: “To my beloved husband, I want to be your wife for the rest of our lives. Thank you for loving me and accepting me for who I am.”
Sober-Curious Ceremony
The ceremony was performed by Rabbi Marvin Hier, who blessed the couple and their union, and gave some wonderful advice about staying mindful, focused, and charitable during their married life together: “May they both be blessed with health, happiness, and serenity, and may their days be filled with joy and peace.” And to think – this was an arranged marriage!
Classy Guest List
A number of notable Hollywood A-listers were in attendance at the wedding, including Kate Bosworth, Naomi Campbell, Charlotte Casiraghi, Rosario Dawson, Lily Collins, and many more. Director and designer Kenzi Zouma was one of the most in-demand women at the wedding – in fact, she managed to steal the show (and the groom!) in a stunning ivory dress that she designed herself.
Polaroid Self-Portraits
The couple pledged to take a ‘selfie’ before the ceremony and throughout the wedding day, and they documented every moment on social media (of course!). Using a special app called Shutter, they were able to instantly print out their photos to commemorate the big day.
An Engagement Story
A big part of the wedding revolved around the story of how Robert and Kristen first met and fell in love. The actor told Entertainment Tonight: “[Kristen] saw me as a father figure. She had a tough upbringing and didn’t have a dad around, and I think she saw me as a more stable figure, someone she could rely on.” He continued: “We were both just kids looking for excitement, fame, and fortune, and we found it. All the hard work and the stress that comes with it all is worth it because we’re here today.” And Kristen added: “When I met Robert, I instantly thought he was the most amazing person I’d ever met. He had this presence about him that was so intense and commanding – like a big bear protecting his cave. I don’t know how to put it into words, but everything just felt right.”
An Indulgent Reception
The couple hosted an extravagant reception at the Beverly Hills Hotel to celebrate their wedding. Over the years, they’ve become very accustomed to treating their friends and family to luxurious holidays and memorable birthday parties, and these aspects of their lives became the inspiration for the reception, which was filled with beautiful balloons, tables draped in white cloths, and centrepieces made up of orchids and carnations.
Private Honeymoon
The newlyweds headed off for their honeymoon after the celebrations in L.A. and have chosen Morocco as their first port of call. The Kingdom of Morocco is one of the top holiday destinations in the world, and it was named the best country to get married in this year. The beautiful city of Marrakech is the perfect location for a relaxing break, and the couple will no doubt be looking forward to a peaceful few days away from the pressures of the big day.
