One of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors has gone and done it again. After starring in the blockbusting Twilight movie series, the British actor is now set to become a father for a second time. We take a look back at Robert Pattinson’s stunning career and wonder if his choice of movie roles will continue to thrill audiences…
From Twilight to World Domination
While most other actors are still trying to decide whether to embrace the romance of the summer season or wait for the hype to die down, Robert Pattinson has led an incredible life. After making his name playing the love interest of Hollywood royalty like Kate Winslet and Drew Barrymore in The Beach, the actor went on to star as Edward Cullen in the megablockbuster Twilight series. The latter earned him the status of global sex symbol and a string of awards, including a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.
With Twilight now surpassed in earnings, it might be expected that Robert Pattinson’s attention would turn to more mature storylines and characters. However, the opposite has happened, and the soon-to-be father has chosen a number of roles that are, in fact, young enough to be his children. The latest being the critically-acclaimed Lost Boys, in which he plays a father attempting to protect his young son from the pitfalls of growing up in a world full of corrupt reality television stars and social media influencers. In an interview with Total Film, Pattinson spoke about his upcoming film roles and why he continues to choose projects aimed at an adult audience:
“I don’t really know why… It’s probably because I feel like I can portray someone more mature and I enjoy that. The role of the father in a lot of those films is more interesting to me, because it’s a character that you haven’t seen portrayed in films before. I’ve always kind of wanted to do something like that.”
While we await the release of Lost Boys, which is set for 20 October, here are some of the other projects that the 32-year-old actor is working on:
Robin Hood
The once-lucky prince who became King Richard II of England has finally found the favor of fortune. Not only has he been given the crown he long-sought after, but he has also been cast as the titular character in the upcoming Netflix original series, Robin Hood. Directed by Ridley Scott and set for a 12 October 2019 release, it will star Mark Ruffalo in the lead role of the eponymous hero. Also starring in the show are Mena Massoud and Ben Wiggins, and will put Netflix’s unique spin on one of literature’s greatest characters. A role that many believe is tailor-made for the British actor.
Having established himself as one of Hollywood’s leading men, it’s almost certain that Robert Pattinson will step into the limelight once more. However, before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s take a step back and examine the many reasons that make him such an appealing choice for upcoming filmmakers.
Attractive
Yes, we all know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and quite blatantly, so. However, when it comes to attracting the opposite sex, few can rival Robert Pattinson. The British actor is blessed with good looks that are both elegant and masculine. The perfect combination for any woman and, dare we say, any man. Not content with his naturally good looks, Pattinson has made a conscious effort to maintain his perfect complexion by regularly visiting the dermatologist for professional procedures. In an interview with Vogue, the actor spoke about his skincare regime and how he keeps his flawless look:
“I get my nails done every two weeks… And when I say nails, I mean nails! I go big or small, and they’re always done in a flash. I have to say that the diamond treatment is something I get really excited about. It’s essentially a form of chemical exfoliation, which sounds a bit like dermatological nuclear fission! It’s incredibly effective, and I feel that it makes my skin look a little bit stronger. Plus, I get to wear gloves while I do my nails, so that adds to the thrill a bit!”
With women throwing themselves at him at every turn, it’s clear that Robert Pattinson has an abundance of opportunities when it comes to romance. However, despite his looks and charm, it’s not always easy for the actor to find the right woman. In her 2019 book, How to Be a Perfect Woman, author Emma Scott lists several reasons why men often struggle with attracting women, and offers some tips on how to change that.
“One of the major things that can make or break your ability to attract women is your body language. Do you walk with your head held high, or with your chest stuck out? Women are more receptive to men who exhibit high levels of confidence. Also, if you want to stand out, don’t just focus on your looks. Work on your personality.”
“When it comes to dating, some men will choose to play it safe and secure, while others will go for broke. The latter group puts them at risk of appearing too eager. If you want to seem like a natural choice, go for broke.”
If you’re dreaming of a romance or just want to find a new lover, then it might be worth a try to go for broke, and see if Robert Pattinson is truly the man of your dreams. He might not be the most straightforward or typical person, but it’s easy to see why so many people want to be with him. He has a twinkling smile and an endless supply of charm, as well as the looks that money can buy. What’s not to like?
Whether you call him gorgeous, handsome, or just plain old cool, there’s no denying that Robert Pattinson is an incredibly attractive man. And that’s what makes him such an appealing choice for upcoming filmmakers, as he is certain to give them hot sex scenes and a perfect couple for a romantic comedy. However, as we’ve established, appearances can be deceptive, and Hollywood might be about to trick you into loving a man who isn’t exactly what he appears to be. Keep your eyes open for hints of deception, and call out the lies if you feel that they’re not adding up. The better you know your man, the better you’ll be able to protect yourself. And that’s something that even the most irresistible man wouldn’t want to experience. Not a good idea to get too familiar, even if it’s for the best in the long run.
