It’s been a tough year for Hollywood, as the coronavirus pandemic put a stop to many of the established stars’ big-ticket exhibitions. One of the many casualties of the pandemic was the Cannes Film Festival, which was postponed to 2021. It’s been almost a year since the last mainstream film festival took place, and it feels like we’ve all been waiting for something new to happen ever since.
One of the most coveted events on the festival circuit is the Cannes Film Gala, as the celebrities that attend usually make the news. But, as we’ve been waiting for so long, something different has happened, and it made headlines when it came out of nowhere.
On Sunday, June 9, the French press was abuzz with news that Robert Pattinson’s dog, named after the late Michael Jackson, had masturbated during the night. It was the summer of 2021, and the British actor had arrived in France for the Cannes Film Festival. His visit was part of a self-quarantine measure put in place by the British government in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The French publication Le Point alleged that during the night, while Pattinson was asleep, the canine had got bored of waiting for its master to wake up and take it for a walk, so it decided to go for a stroll itself. While the actor’s French collaborators deny the claim that he was even in the same country at the time, they did confirm that Michael Jackson’s dog did indeed have a very active night.
The publication also noted that the 40-year-old had been a frequent visitor to Jackson’s villa, looking after the dog and occasionally taking it for walks on the island of Saint Barts. The site speculates that even before the pandemic, the four-time Academy Award nominee may have found the time to indulge in some self-pleasure, thanks to the extra attention he gets from the animal. It’s also possible that Michael Jackson, who died in 2009, left behind some of his intimate belongings, which may have inspired the ambitious project. According to the website, objects such as the stethoscope that the doctor used to diagnose the King of Pop or other medical equipment are up for grabs.
Pattinson’s Spoken Flaws
The publication’s claim that this was the first time that Michael Jackson’s dog had ever ejaculated doesn’t seem to be true. While we don’t have any documentary proof, we did stumble upon a hilarious video. In it, a man can be heard criticizing Jackson for spoiling the dog and trying to get it to ejaculate for fun.
The man, who appears to be American, can be seen holding up a stuffed toy to the camera. He then proceeds to take it out, and after praising the dog for its loyalty, he starts complaining about how much attention it gets from the singer. According to the subtitles, the man is saying that Michael Jackson has been trying to get his dog to have an orgasm for as long as he can remember. In one segment, we even see the singer attempting to get the animal to ejaculate by tickling it under the tail.
It’s unclear whether the American man was accusing Michael Jackson of cruelty or just poking fun at the singer’s efforts to get the dog to orgasm. There’s also no evidence that the stuffed toy is in any way affiliated with Jackson’s persona or legacy. We’ll leave you to decide whether or not you believe this video. If you do, then you’ll have to agree that it’s an interesting twist to one of the most famous stories about Michael Jackson.
A Big Bag Of Tricks
As a child, Michael Jackson taught himself how to finger-bang, having seen a video of Mick Jagger doing the same. The singer would also get his dogs to beg for treats by playing recordings of themselves yapping. He was always training his animals to do his bidding. It’s no secret that we love a smart-ass comment when it comes to talking about celebrity, so here’s another story about the King of Pop.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2019, the host jokingly referred to Michael Jackson as the “pandemic czar” due to his extensive experience with the deadly coronavirus. The comparison may have seemed a little far-fetched, but it turns out the singer did have some valuable insight on the subject. While we don’t know how much he actually knows about the pandemic or whether or not he was ever tested for the virus, it’s evident that he’s done a lot of research on the matter. During a press conference, he referenced the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic and even went as far as to detail how he thought the virus had originally started.
It was a rare opportunity for journalists to get some face-to-face time with the mega-star, who had rarely given an interview since his 2009 trial. But with the world facing the possible end of the pandemic, many were more interested in getting the details about the disease than anything else.
In the documentary film, We Need to Talk About Kevin, director Lenny Abrahamson mentions that Michael Jackson helped him out with some of the research for his 2017 film. Although he doesn’t go into any more detail, the fact that he would reference a notorious trial from almost a century ago suggests that he has a keen interest in history.
An Insatiable Appetite
To this day, we don’t know if Michael Jackson indulged in any illegal activities as a result of his time in the entertainment industry. But, given his history of sexual misconduct and the #MeToo movement, it’s certainly plausible that he had an appetite for more than just music. In the documentary, we’re shown footage of a young Jackson dancing with a woman who appears to be younger than he is. Although it’s a little hard to tell given the graininess of the image, it looks like they may be having some kind of intercourse. In a press conference during the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, director Kevin Macdonald said that this scene might be the most revealing one yet seen in a Michael Jackson documentary, adding that it would “change the course of cinema.”
These were interesting times for the documentary world, as the media was eager to hear more about Michael Jackson’s alleged sexual misconduct. In November 2019, shortly before the premiere of the Making of Michael jackson, the singer’s daughter, Paris, spoke out about her father’s alleged predilections. In an interview with The New York Times, the 15-year-old alluded to her father’s “bad boy” reputation and admitted that a lot of the details about his life were a “myth.” As a result of her frank interview, she became the subject of a deluge of online abuse, with people calling her a b-word and accusing her of lying. (She has since been publicly supported by her mother, Elizabeth Taylor.)
More Than Meets The Eye
Although we haven’t seen any hard evidence of foul play, Michael Jackson’s death remains one of the biggest mysteries in recent history. With his passing, the world lost one of its most beloved celebrities and cultural icons. But in the years since his untimely demise, his legacy has lived on, with several monuments and museums dedicated to the music legend. In light of the recent revelations, perhaps it’s not such a mystery that Michael Jackson’s fans have continued to celebrate his life and work. A year after his death, people were still coming together to pay homage to the artist, with sold-out memorial concerts and festivals.
There have also been multiple documentaries about the King of Pop, several of which are set for release in the coming months. One of the most anticipated films about Michael Jackson is due out next year, with director Joe Berlinger revealing during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that they’ve been picking up extra filming locations and revisiting old ones as a way to add extra detail to the project.
The year 2021 will go down in history as one of the most significant years in the history of the entertainment industry, as well as the world at large. The COVID-19 pandemic stopped the world in its tracks, with film festivals, sporting events, and concerts all shut down. With the world seemingly on the road to recovery, it was one of the most exciting times in recent memory, as something new was certainly on the horizon. Well, it appears that the waiting is finally over, and something truly monumental has happened.
