In the midst of the 2019 movie award season, it’s time for yet another round of ‘What Does He Look Like?’ celebrity gossip. This time around we’re focusing on the Twilight and Good Morning America star. We’ve collected all of the latest images of Robert Pattinson as well as put them in chronological order, so you can follow the changes through time.
First Picture Of Robert Pattinson
The first image of Robert Pattinson we have on our radar dates back to 2014 and it was taken at the UK premiere for The Rover. In it, the actor is clearly wearing a mask, but it’s not one you’d typically see at a Halloween party. Rather, the actor was wearing the mask to protect his privacy as he and his then-fiancee, Mia Wasikowska, were attending an afterparty following the premiere. For a while, this was the only image of Robert Pattinson available online. Then, in 2018, a few more came to light. Mostly they were taken at publicity events or award shows.
Early Days
On the set of Snow White And The Huntsman in 2012, Robert Pattinson is seen sporting a full ginger beard. At this point, he was already a recognizable face from his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies, which were released in 2008 and 2009. While most actors continue to grow their hair and beard for the sake of the role they’re playing, in the case of Robert Pattinson, it’s clearly for the purpose of looking unique and individualized. We can also clearly see that the young actor is already a man of the world and well-traveled, having been born in Scotland and growing up in England. His first visit to the United States was when he was a kid and he’s since returned numerous times for various magazine and movie shoots.
Matching Mummy / Dada
In 2016, Robert Pattinson starred in the dystopian thriller, The Lighthouse. This was a breakout role for the young actor, who hadn’t yet turned 30. While quite a chilling experience, it was also quite a bit of work, which is why it took him so long to return to the big screen. He followed this up in 2018 with the drama, The King, which also featured his then-fiancee, Daisy Ridley. The pair have been relatively quiet ever since their 2015 wedding, which took place in Venice and was followed by a very private honeymoon in Scotland.
Going International
While he was in Cannes for the premiere of The King last year, fans had the chance to see the handsome actor in a whole new light. That’s because the actor is often spotted with his arm around Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. The two have been dating since December 2018 and it was clearly a match made in fairy tale heaven. While they remain private, it’s clear that the duchess is making the most of her married status and that her fame and fortune have not gone to her husband’s head. The couple was recently photographed at an event in London for the charity, Time to Talk. According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex has even given the okay for Prince Harry to attend his first ever drag queen costume party as her husband. This has led to speculation that the couple’s relationship is very serious and perhaps even ‘blossoming’ into something more than just friends and allies. After all, as we saw with Kate Middleton and Prince William, a marriage between a royal and a commoner can produce an heir to the throne. It’s an event many women (and men) around the world would like to see happen.
Robert Pattinson’s Body Language
The man himself has also broken his silence recently and has opened up about his love for acting and filmmaking. While most stars stay out of the limelight and keep a low profile, particularly those who have found success quite quickly, Robert Pattinson has spoken about his life and his work in interviews and on social media. It seems that this has not gone unnoticed by fans, who have taken to social media to express their adoration for the man behind the mask. Here’s a small sample of the many tweets the actor has received over the years.
I Love You
The most moving tribute to the actor came from Australian photographer, Sophie Hanks. In a series of lovely Instagram posts, she pays tribute to the Scottish-born star and shares some of her favorite quotes from him. The photos are incredibly sweet and show that even though he’s been in the public eye for nearly a decade, Robert Pattinson remains as elusive as ever, particularly now that he’s a married man. The pair were married in a small, private ceremony in Scotland in 2015 before going on an intimate honeymoon in Venice. Since then, the couple have remained relatively quiet, preferring to keep their private life as private as possible, which is exactly how they want to be. While they haven’t announced any sort of reunion tour or confirmed any plans to have children, they’ve created a lovely, supportive family unit and have proven that committed, long-term partnership and marriage can be as happy and successful as what any other couple might achieve. This is a role model for all of society and a shining light to show that there is still hope for lasting love (especially for those looking for a mate). In the meantime, we’ll have to settle for ogling these Instagrammable moments and dreaming of what might have been… if only Robert Pattinson had decided to ‘settle’ for a while and not continued on his path to stardom.
