Holland has gone absolutely crazy over Robert Pattinson. The actor-singer was in the country for the Christmas holidays, and thousands of fans lined up outside his home just to catch a glimpse of him. Well-known newspapers such as the Daily Mail published special editions focusing on the 24-year-old star, while others went all out and declared Christmas 2019 to be “Robert Pattinson Day.” On Dec. 25, fans of all ages gathered outside his villa in Twisleton, near Amsterdam, to celebrate the English actor’s birthday.

In anticipation of Christmas, fans took the opportunity to pay tribute to Pattinson by sharing their love and affection for him via Twitter. Many of the photos were deeply emotional, with many fans shedding a tear or two. While we anxiously await the arrival of the Golden Globe-winning actor’s first solo album, here are 12 Robert Pattinson Christmas photos that’ll make you cry.

The 24-year-old singer-turned-actor-turned-singer was born in London and moved to Vancouver with his family at a young age. He began acting in 2014 after graduating from Oxford University with a degree in classics. Three years later, he landed the role of Edward Cullen in the massively popular vampire series, “The Twilight Saga”.

The series quickly became a major cultural phenomenon, with book sales reaching an extraordinary 4.7 million copies globally upon the release of the final installment in early 2021. Many fans have credited the films and TV shows with helping them deal with anxiety and depression, and have spoken of how they’ve grown as a result of watching the series.

Pattinson has kept a relatively low profile since the end of “The Twilight Saga,” although he has starred in several music videos as of late. His last film was “Good Guy,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in April and opened in theaters in the UK and US in December. He is currently filming Adam Kay’s next movie, “Autumn,” in the UK.

1. Edward Cullen: The First Photo Of Robert Pattinson As Edward

In the first photo of Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, the blond star sports a plain silver ring on his right hand. The actor first donned the ring in the very first scene of the third movie in the “Twilight” franchise, “New Moon,” when he accidentally wounds himself during a fight with another vampire. The ring was the only thing Edward lost in the battle, which later inspired the quote “You may have won the battle, but you lost the war.”

The scene was deeply emotional for Pattinson, who was hailed by critics for his acting debut in the 2010 film, “Cosmopolis.” He reportedly cried twice while filming the brutal fight scene. Edward’s first loss was also the last we see of him for a long time, as he seemingly vanishes from existence in “Breaking Dawn,” the final installment of the “Twilight Saga.” But he makes a triumphant return in “Eclipse,” and eventually redeems himself in the end.

2. A Comradely Kiss Fuelled By Romantic Feelings

In the second photo, Pattinson and his co-star Bella Swan share a passionate kiss while on the set of the first movie in the “Twilight” saga, “Twilight.” The actors play a devoted couple who meet as students at an exclusive university. The film, which was originally titled “Eclipse,” was released in 2012 and starred Pattinson as Edward and Bella as Bella Swan. It’s been said that the kissing scenes were some of the most explicit in Australian film history, even earning the pair an R18+ rating.

“We had to do something that hadn’t really been done before: show the love story from two perspectives,” director Cliff Broughton told The Cut in an interview. “Not just, ‘Here’s Edward, here’s Bella.’ So we decided to put cameras in their mouths and get a sense of how they felt. It was groundbreaking. … I think that’s what the success of the movie was about: the fact that it broke some boundaries.”

3. A Chilling Encounter With A Vampire

“Twilight” gave way to “Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” a 2012 film that serves as the unofficial sequel to “Twilight.” In the third photo, Pattinson and his co-star Jamie Campbell-Boyd sit next to each other on a couch, staring at each other and into each other’s eyes. The pair play a couple who are desperate to have a child but are struggling with infertility. So they turn to science, only to have a creation experiment go horribly wrong. In the film, the two are seen exploring each other’s blood, with Pattinson even going so far as to bite the actor Jamie Campbell-Boyd on the neck during the making of the movie.

The pair looked so convincing as a vampire-human hybrid that Campbell-Boyd’s father said he believed the actor was one hundred percent vampirical at times. “They were getting so immersed in the make-up and the character that they both forgot that they were wearing prosthetics,” he said of the filming of the scene, which was one of the most disturbing to watch. “The bite took a while to film. They were really getting into it and when the camera started rolling Jon just leaned in and bit me. You could feel the tension as they were getting ready to shoot it. I didn’t mind. It was kind of like kissing an extra.”

Campbell-Boyd later addressed the rumors in a Reddit Ask Me Anything, explaining that there was always an extra layer of protection while filming because the entire set was closed off and only the two leads were allowed in. “There’s also a lot of make-up in that scene,” she said. “I think you’d be surprised at how much they had to put on. And remember: this is not a glamor shot. This is serious business.”

4. An Eerie Encounter With A Werewolf

In the fourth photo, we see Pattinson in a completely different kind of scenario: wrestling a wild dog on the ground, as a huge wolf howls in the background. The actor plays a lawyer who specializes in defending werewolves in court, so he can afford to buy a big house in the countryside and eat human flesh without fear of being prosecuted by the authorities. Unfortunately for Pattinson, he is unable to prevent the violent death of one of his clients, who is attacked by a group of men while on a night out.

Filmed in Bulgaria, “Underworld: New Dawn” is the first installment of the “Underworld” trilogy, which also stars Kate Beckinsale. The film premieres at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, where it will likely be one of the most-watched premieres ever. “New Dawn” is also directed by Anna Biller, who helmed the first installment of the “Dark Knight” series, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

What’s next for the 24-year-old English actor? We’re going to miss him terribly when he vanishes from this world. But until then, we have his music and the numerous projects he’s invested in to keep us warm (and amused) during these cold winter months.
