You’re probably aware that the stars of “The Twilight Saga” are about to embark on a massive world tour following the success of their final film, “Breaking Dawn Part 2.” But did you know that the first part of the franchise’s grand finale will be released on Friday, October 13th?
Based on the bestselling novel by Stephenie Meyer, “Breaking Dawn Part 1” finds Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and her vampire husband, Edward Cullen (Pattinson), adjusting to their newfound fame and trying to navigate the ups and downs of a celebrity marriage. It might not make for the most exciting moviegoing experience, but considering how huge this final chapter of the franchise is going to be, you might just want to watch it sooner rather than later.
While “Breaking Dawn Part 1” might not offer the kind of groundbreaking twists and turns that the first two installments of the franchise packed in, it is still chock full of the romance and heartache that fans have come to expect from these highly-acclaimed films. And as usual with anything involving Bella and Edward, it will be quite the ride. Lets take a look at the newest trailer for the movie and see what it has in store for us.
A Tour De Force
Anyone who’s seen the trailer knows that Stewart and Pattinson are putting on a show. The minute they set foot on a stage, the dynamic duo are bound to steal the show. Not only is Twilight a passion project for them, but it also marks their big-screen debut as a married couple. And what an introduction that is!
The two star-crossed lovers are a cinematic odd couple with an undeniable sex appeal that leaves little to the imagination. Fans of the series have grown accustomed to seeing them show off their undeniable chemistry on-screen, but this is the first time that Stewart and Pattinson have gone au naturelle as husband and wife. So much passion and chemistry is bound to spill over into their on-stage banter and in-front-of-the-crowd banter as well.
It’s the marriage of rock stars and the crowd is their target audience. While the fans will get all the famous shots and their favorite characters, the couple on-stage are there to entertain the people in the seats. And what an entertaining couple they are!
An Introduction To Vampires
Not much is known about the characters of “Breaking Dawn” other than the fact that they’re vampires and that they’re all famous musicians. But while the characters may be inspired by real-life celebrities, the filmmakers have given them a distinct Hollywood spin that makes them recognizable and, at times, entertaining. For example, the character of Alice (Stewart) could easily be mistaken for Emily Blunt’s character in the 2011 movie “Never Let Me Go.”
Yes, the story of “Breaking Dawn” will revolve around vampires, but it will do so in a way that is not only fitting for a big-budget Hollywood film, but also offers a fresh take on the classic horror trope. Instead of your typical monsters, these bloodsuckers will be relatable characters with whom you can identify.
And did I mention that the special effects are spectacular? It’s no secret that the biggest challenge facing a movie like this is figuring out how to make vampires appear real. Thankfully, the folks at Weta Workshop (the same company that brought you the extraordinary creatures of “The Hobbit”) have you covered. Through computer-generated imagery and some decent makeup, these monsters will certainly put a scare into you. And if that weren’t enough, the filmmakers have also enlisted the services of Academy Award winner Rick McDonald to create special effects that are entirely CGI (computer-generated imagery).
There might not be much to say about “Breaking Dawn” other than that it looks like another winner from the Twilight generation. And, as always, the trailer is pretty damn spectacular. If you’ve never experienced the magic of Twilight, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by watching this one. So sit back and get ready to swoon. This one is definitely worth the wait.
